It's a netyaroze release for the original playstation some years ago. Netyaroze was a homebrew project hosted by sony to encurage amateur gaming programmers around the world. The developement kit was actually very hard to get though, only a few guys got lucky enough to get their hands on one. Uh, and I recall that Terra Incognita was one of the more "advanced" releases, since most of the other ones were 2d jump 'n run based, not that intresting actually.

It's great to see a complete 3D action rpg for the PSP, ported by a homebrewer (!) :D

Bah. I can't get it to work. When I run it, it displays a black screen with the Version History, and site References in white text for about 15 seconds...then my PSP shuts itself off. I'm obviously doing SOMETHING wrong, but not sure what. If someone knows, or if you have it working, and you could post how your game files are set up on your memory stick, that'd be great.

Yeah I have the same problem and it really pisses me off because I tried to download it like 12 times and my CPU would freeze then when it finally downloads the damned app does'nt even work on my PSP it just displays some characters then freezes up (sometimes while the charaters are displayd my memory stick light is constantly on, not flashing or doing anything).

Nevermind I found out that the problem was that the folders must be named terrapsp% and terrapsp thats it and it should work fine, by the way the graphics are superb.

Pretyy impressive for a homebrew game. Very PS1.

The translations almost make it worth playing LOL -

"you are tenacious. I told you that I understood."

"explanation of a controller"

There doesn't seem to be a way to save the game though, which is a damn shame because despite it's very simple gameplay (pick up box and place it in order to reach higher level seems to be the main thrust of gameplay) it's seems quite fun.

The frame rate is not incredible (probably 15fps) and it could do with running about 20% faster. But it's great workk nonetheless.

It appears I am not allowed to go through the first door. I got the heart from the chest, crossed the bridge, and that seems to be all I'm allowed to do. Is that it for this early version? Not that playing anymore would be all that useful without a save.

P.S. Thanks Bus1nessboy for the folder name.

Your welcome for the folders, but if you look around the corner you should find another treasure chest with the key
to open the first door.

just beware after u get thru the first door, i got stuck, theres a metal lookin box that i cant get on the switch b/c i cant get behind it enough once i push it off the first ledge. i went a bit further on and crossed a bridge and killed some slimes and found a box and threw it on the switch but once i take the elevator thingy theres ledge up there thats to high for me to jump, so im thinkin somehow im sposed to be able to get the metal box on the switch and take the little one up the elevator thing with me to get the chest up there.......oh and the white slime across the bridge is bad ass, be careful!!!!!

Viperguy212
July 14th, 2005, 20:05
ok i got it, u get the box that is across the bridge, then take it back and put it on the ledge rigth in front of the metal box, push the metal box on top of it, then onto the switch, grab the box and go up, use the box on that wall, then get the heath thingy

but after this part i dont kno where to go or what to do

The reason why you are having problems, is because you are hiding the corrupted data...
Games that require a specific folder name (such as this one) will not allow it...

I was having the same problem but then after using sei tool to export the whole folder to my psp, i renamed the folders to terrapsp and terrapsp%, it worked this way for me but i have a corrupt data icon as the last thing on my games list...

After I loaded it without hiding the bad icons it worked
Thanks!

Now that I've gotten it working, it was pretty sweet. There was some major slowdown in some areas, but it was standable. The final boss is a bastard though.

Someone was talking about the metal box puzzle. Here:

When you first enter the map, youll see a 'mountain' with the metal box on it. Ignore it for now, its not important. Go forward. You'll come to another mountain you have to jump up. At the top, rotate your screen so the bridge is facing down/towards you. You can see a tiny hole on the right side of the bridge. There's an extra heart in there. Not required for this puzzle, but useful nonetheless. Ok, cross the bridge, fall off the edge, and kill the two slimes. Now a floating platform has appeared to take you back up. before you do, grab the wooden box in the area where the slimes were. Take it aaaaall the way back to the metal box. Now, the box is on a high platform, the switch is on the ground, and there is one platform between them. Put the wooden box there. Now, slide the metal box towards the switch. You should be able to figure out the rest yourself. I know someone said all this already, but I figured I'd make it more clear.

Unfortunately, the joke is on you. You dont even have to do this puzzle. Go back a map, where you blew up the giant stone, and the boxes fell. To continue the game, you have to stack those boxes on top of the SIGN, and go to the pathway to the LEFT. Sucker. :) However, the 2 extra hearts you got might help later on. There's some NASTY puzzles.

I woulda taken pictures of all this, but my webcam is horrible. Whew, that took longer than I expected. Meh, hope it helps.

I'm hoping for some improvements on this port once the gpu is figured out. Some texture smoothing and extending the screen to be fullscreen picture would be awesome. Plus a better sword swinging animation.

Great homebrew.
I wonder what it was ported from? Also, The sound effects remind me of Landstalker for the Genesis.

<shudder> The writing is terrible, isn't it? To misquote somebody (probably Dave Barry) it seems like it was translated from Japanese to English by someone who speaks neither. :)

does this take up a lot of juice in order to run 3d rendering via software??

Thats like saying does playing psp games take up alot of power because they are 3d. I'll let you figure out the answer.
