I have a psp with 2.71 firmware on it. I cannot use the easy downgrader because my psp has "1C1003" in the top right hand corner when I open the umd drive. Is there any other way to downgrade my psp? Do I have to use a pandora battery? Is there any other way? I would make a pandora battery but Im not very technically minded so would like an easier option.

there is a lot you can do.
What you should do is download the 2.80 update and use the 2.80 downgrader.

Here is the 2.80 update:
http://www.psp-hacks.com/download.php?id=663

Unzip it and put it on your memory stick at X:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/EBOOT.PBP (where X is the drive your psp is on your computer)
Next, get on your psp and go to game, then memory stick. There should be an updater there.
Run the update.
Now delete the update data off of your memory card.

After you run the update and your psp is at 2.80, download and unzip this file:
http://www.psp-hacks.com/download.php?id=1011
and this file:
http://www.psp-hacks.com/download.php?id=4

Rename the second file from eboot.pbp to UPDATE.pbp and put it in X:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/UPDATE.pbp

From the other file you unzipped, open the MS_ROOT folder and copy the folder PSP to X:/ and overwrite anything it asks you to.

Now download and unzip this:
http://www.noobz.eu/joomla/component/option,com_remository/Itemid,88888895/func,download/id,9/chk,56c97dec57c9e3c8d4f63609760b8b7e/no_html,1/fname,hen280.zip/

copy the PSP folder from the MS_ROOT folder to X:/ and overwrite anything that it tells you to.

Now, go to your photo section on your psp and open the HEN-D folder.
If your psp crashes, or you get a red screen, try again.
If you get a green screen, run the TA-082 Patcher (I'm not exactly sure what the name of it is, but it has patch in its name in the games).
After you exit that, restart your psp and open the HEN-D folder in your pictures again.
If it crashes, try again.
If you get a blue screen, run the Update X.Y.Z in the games section. Make sure you have at least 75% battery or it wont run.
After that is over, your psp will be downgraded and you can update to the latest custom firmware!

If you need any further explanation, or would like to know how to install custom firmware, just ask.
