PS2 Password remove (Non-Hacked)

Is there anyway to do it, like a cheat?
Because:
My dad works with this chick who is divorced, and her ex locked her ps2 with the highest control. (can't play even rachet and clank), is there any wat to unlock it

It really is as simple as.
1) press select
(it will say "delete code")
2) put in 7444 or 1111
(then it will ask for a new code)
3) your done.

If this doesn't work only unplugging the playstation for 48-72 hours will clear this.
