iv put papaint and the gameboy emulatour but when ever i start it up it starts but then this pops up the game could not be started

i have the exact same problem. i've tried numerous games, the only thing i can get to work is the icon of the game. I'm sure we are missing something really stupid. PLZ HELP US!!
