I want to back up my ps3s HDD to upgrade it to a higher capacity one

I have downloaded Warhawk from the online store

The PS3 instructions say copy-protected data cannot be backed up and restored

Warhawk is copy-protected

Apparantely you can redownload it but im not 100% certain

Will all my profile data be deleted so that I will have to start from scratch?

Can someone explain exactly what the story is here so that I fully understand, before I go ahead with this?

Thanks a lot, bull, x.

The profile data and stuff for warhawk is stored on their servers. Yes, you can re download it from the store, just go to the download list. Back up the rest of your hard drive though.

you can download other games multiple times so i think warhawk should be the same.

It would be best to copy all your saves, game install files[motorstorm, etc] and the actual games to an external drive before removing the HDD and installing the new one. Then copy over the files.

Unless you have a use for a small external HDD then you can leave the files on there incase of problems.
