Unofficial Daedalus Icons for R14+ Posting Thread

Now that StrmnNrmn has finished choosing his official icon for Daedalus R14+, it got me thinking and this is what I came up with. The icon the StrmnNrmn picked wasn't the favorite icon for all of us, but what was good was all the choices we got and how much better it was for the community as a whole. Now StrmnNrmn said that he didn't want any Nintendo copyrighted stuff in his icons but for this thread I think the Nintendo characters and such make the icons better. So I'm asking you guys if you entered his competetion and sent in an icon then to post it here. Any of you that are artists or have made Daedalus icons in the past to post them here so everyone can see them. Alot of the great icons that were sent in never got seen by everyone so this is a chance to get your icon seen. So anyone out there that has an icon or background or even music to go with the icon to post it here and let people have more options to what icons to use for Daedalus. You can use any Nintendo logo or whatever you got in this thread, and be creative as possible. If you want to make your icons even better keep in mind how the menu and such in Daedalus look so you can possibly match the icons with that. So anyone out there post away have fun with this, maybe your icons will get used by hundreds!

Yeah Phosphorus I did see those on the other thread but I wanted you to post them here and you did. Reason being just so that they are all in one thread so we don't have to go to multiple places to find the same stuff. Please anyone that has or wants to create a Daedalus icon PLEASE do and post it here.

There was an icon set that was released a long time ago.. In my opinion it was the best but I haven't been able to find the original copy of it. Here I'll post a smaller image I found on QJ of it.. If anyone has this icon set please upload it! Thanks!

No, but that one seems to be based on the original though.. I know it was posted on DCEmu somewhere in these forums. Man I was hoping someone else would have had it. It will be a pain in the ass searching through all these forums for it! :rofl: Oh well.. :p

well, i picked the official icon and background and a background-sound, so i made an new .PBP

Just replace the "Daedalus%" folder from the original.
I liked so much.

Hey Venom I looked through my collection, is this is the icon you were looking for, I don't have a matching background.

No that one looks like it was based off the original too.. BUT I've finally been able to find the missing pieces and put them together!!!

After a long time of searching I found where the original files were for it but the links had long been expired and I thought all hope for finding would be lost..

But I keep on searching and came across various pieces of it and was able to put them together with a little editing of course! I'm not going to go into extreme detail of all the steps that went into recreating this awesome icon & background package but in the end I was able to do it!

It's not perfect but its the best I could do... Here I'll post some images and upload an eboot with them in it..

StrmnNrmn - OF COURSE! ( For those who don't know.. He's that guy who created Daedalus to begin with! )
LaMaOne - for the original background design
Pop-Tart - for creating the icon & sound.
( Amazing I know, I was able to find the original creators of the custom icons as well.. :p )
V3N0M - for tracking these lost pieces of art down and combining them together as closely as possible to match the original. ( Just wanted a little credit ;) )

V3NOM you got me thinking and I remembered PSDonkey did a set for Daedalus back on R5, here's his, comes with a decent AT3 (music) too.

Might be worth looking into.. but honestly nothing good has really ever come from PSdonkey.. So who knows but I know I've had enough searching through these massive amounts of threads & forums! :rofl: Anyways I've got the set I've been looking for all this time.. and in my opinion its much better than the official one coming up in the next release. So I'm good now :)

But OMG never again dude! That took SO much longer than it was worth! :rofl: All that editing I had to do from various pieces just to get one image that was as close as possible to the original was ridiculous! I hope people appreciate it!

edit: You can't make a background image to match my icon that I use on Pg1, the current background image I'm using is the one with mario riding yoshi I posted above, so if you could make one Buddy please let it match the colors.
