bjohnson has ported the classic Heretic to the PSP, heres the news from the readme:

Hmmm, kinda pointless since PSP-DOOM runs Heretic pretty good already, except the shading isn't quite spot on.

Heretic was never that great anyway IMHO, I would prefer HEXEN or Rise of the Triads.

I guess it could be interesting to see how this runs DOOM, hopefully this will come on nicely and we'll have a choice between them. As long as it has WAD selection support and custom button settings it will be nice to have some competition over the better DOOM WAD player.

I hope someone does Duke 3D someday. I'd pay $ to sponsor a dude to do that.

Actually, this is really exciting for me, because I never could get Heretic working on the Doom-psp. I can't wait!

The Heretic that works for the PSP-Doom was not designed to use an actual (Shaware/comercial).WAD file. There is a Homebrewed orignal doom.wad file that had been edited to look like (Not a lot like...) heretic. I'm glad to see an actual heretic port....
