Have any of you purchased a PSP that is 1.51 in the U.S? Please post! i'm buying a new psp and dont want to risk getting a 1.51 or higher thank you!

No. I recently bought mine (3 weeks ago) and they told me (Best Buy) that there is no other version (besides 1.5) shipping as far as they know.

all US versions are 1.5 as of now, u have to update to get the others

are you 100% sure about this? i am so worried about the possibility of getting 1.51 that i am looking at buying a used one on ebay and making sure i ask the auction seller to check the firmware version.

Im pretty sure all US psp's ARE 1.5, i dont think sony would update there software unless its something major. Kinda like windows and there service packs. Its still very early in the systems' life so expect a couple more updates untill they change there software at the plant i guess.

Look for ones that still contain the Spiderman 2 UMD. Those are the first PSPs shipped. Soon enough though, they will get really hard to find because everyone is buying em'. So get yours quick or not at all.

Word is that all the new psp's on the store shelves is 1.51 so either buy a box that has the spider man bonus in it or use ebay. I would say ebay because you can pick it up from any where of $100 to $150 cheaper.

Someone told me that on the box there is a way of knowing. When they tell me or they post themselves I will post again until then listen to JcBoyCool because I bought a psp thinking it was going to be a 1.5 and it was a 1.51 but i got lucky and the guy at gamestop was cool and gave me 264.99 in credit as opposed to either half of it in cash or 170.00 for trading it in! DO NOT BUY THE SYSTEM UNLESS YOU KNOW ITS 1.5 CONSUMERS! 1.51's are being shipped I got a psp that was labeled PSP031 so i'm guessing it was a VERY EARLY shipment (guess) just dont do what I did and buy impulsively!!!!! I got very lucky with my scenario (thank god!)
