I believe SiZiOUS just released a new proggie for converting ELF files to BIN. You need to convert the ELF file to a BIN file, then you will need to scramble the BIN file (unless SiZiOUS' proggie gives you the option to create a scrambled bin). Then, rename it to 1st_Read.bin, find an IP.bin, and use a program like Selfboot to create a disc image. There are tutorials explaining how to create a selfbooting disc image at DCHelp.

i would also like to make comment to this as i use the program aswell to convert elfs to bins. Alot of elfs cannot be converted by using this program and the other way of getting elfs to work is a coders cable. Alot of things now are starting to work alot better but i cant remember what files did not work with Sizious elf to bin.

Just so it's known, 1st_read.bin File Checker supports converting ELF files into either a scrambled or unscrambled BIN file.

it is known but some of the time elf will not convert and the only way to get it to work is use a coders cable and i know this cause it has been tested by Sizious's program and a oldie i used to use and both confirmed that some elfs cant convert

I have the same problem at the moment:

I'm now trying to burn the compiled example program to a self bootable cd. Theres a tool called selfboot inducer, wich automatically create an image (which works), that opens an sbi file. So I tried to make an sbi file of the compiled tunnel exple program. I used the SBI Builder 2.4

There are 3 files: tunnel.bin, tunnel.elf and 1st_read bin. Which one do I have to change to a SBI file, and how do I have to add the other files? Is there something else I have to change (perhaps the .mak file before compiling)?

These are the links to the tutorial I used to compile the source and to the forum were I told I about the problems with the coders cable and comport....

I think it can't be that hard to make a cd for dreamcast, but I never succeeded... and I'm getting lost in the hundreds of tools and tutorials avaiable on the internet....

hanf go and download a prog named "Selfboot". you can find it at:
http://www.dcemulation.com/dl/dl.php3?url=files/needed/Selfboot.exe

There are 3 files: tunnel.bin, tunnel.elf and 1st_read bin...

You need 1st_read.bin. Place it in a directory along with IP.BIN and run "selfboot". The program will create a selfboot image in nero or discjuggler format. then burn this image on a cd and you should be ready.
