Ripping help for a noob?

i have a PSP slim and light and i need to rip a DVD to put it on my PSP.
1.What program do i use.
2.will it ruin the dvd?
3.what file do i put it in the PSP

1. Depends what operating system you are on..
Mac OS X has handbrake thats all i know.
2. No.
3. what ever file it outputs.
