I have a fat psp with 3.40 OE-A custom firmware.

Could anyone please help me upgrade to 3.71 M33?

I've never done such things before (my friend is the one who downgraded for me; he's not here anymore).

I'd appreciate a step-by-step guide.

Thanks..

damn.... ok

get update 3.52M33, read the readme.txt file and follow the instructions (you'll need 3.52 official firmware update)

After installed, then get 3.52M33 update 4, I think this one just goes on the ms0:/PSP/GAME150 folder (but read the readme)

Once you're on 3.52M33-4 (check system software to be sure), Get 3.71M33 update, also get 3.71 official firmware update and follow the readme

then, get 3.71M33 update 4 and follow the readme file

believe me there's nothing special, you just need to READ and follow the instructions

Every M33 update is in www.dark-alex.org
and the Official firmware updates you can get them from www.psp-hacks.com

edit: yes, you can go straight to update 4, without using 1,2 and 3

Thanks for your prompt reply.

I've read the 3.71 M33 readme. The following statement is strange to me.

"The main installer will not install 1.50 kernel anymore.
A 1.50 kernel addon for 3.71 M33 that will install inside 3.71 M33 will be released in a
few days (for fat only)"

What does this mean? Does it mean that emulators like gpSP and NesterJ won't work anymore?

And what about the Addon for Kernel 1.5?

ups yep
there was that tiny issue
3.71 doesnt come with 1.50 kernel since this CFW is for the slim too and 1.50 kernel doesn't work with the slim

just run the 1.50 kernel addon 2 after you get to 3.71M33 wich is also on DAXs site and all the emulators will work

Thanks. btw, you forgot to mention that the official 1.5 firmware is also needed to upgrade to 3.52 M33.

Another Q;
Will those procedures format the Memory Stick? or should I rest assured that all the contents will be kept intact?

That guide is good (esp. for those who want DETAILS).
