Ok, ive read all the threads and links i can bare. I decided to ask a question, i just bought a star wars edition psp. It is loaded with version 3.71. I honestly am not sure whether i can change my psp to a version which can play homebrew. Can someone post me a link that answers this question or let me know if it is hopeless? I would prefer to completely avoid using a pandora battery pack as well...... does version 3.71 m33 work for me? please help me!!

yes 3.71M33 works on Psp slim & lite
but in order to get to 3.71M33 the only way is using a pandora's battery, there's no other way

There is two Known ways (at least by me,and i did this with my psp its really easy):

But,in all instances you need a Magic Memory Stick

What you need:
1 Homebrew 1.5 kernel enabled PSP (to run installer)
2 PSP Official Battery (works the best)
3 USB Cable
4 PC Running Windows XP
5 A Memory Stick Bigger than 32 mb. (most people use 256, i used my 1 gig, but it CANNOT, repeat CANNOT use 4 gig because 1.5 can't see 4 gb)

A)Get the Pandora's GUI(google for it)
B)Connect psp to computer
C)Follow the steps 1,2
D)Go to the Homebrew PSP, run the application "Firmware install"
E)Then go to the Slim and Lite tab, and follow step 2
F)Go back to psp, run the New app "pandora ext for slim 3.60"
G)Go to computer, connect psp again
H)Run Step 4

Now, you have a Magic Mem Stick for PSP Slim and Lite.
Now, the fun.

A)Safely, run the "Battery application" on the Homebrew PSP, turning your ordinary battery into a Pandora.

B) Use the guide here (http://forums.benheck.com/viewtopic.php?t=21280)
but, you may end up going to hospital, getting burnt etc.

Sounds tricky?, Maybe, but it just SOUNDS tricky, it really isn't.
