PSP Dosbox configuration questions

Alright, so I just downloaded and extracted the latest version of PSP Dosbox. Just to see what it could handle, I threw Jazz Jackrabbit on my memstick.
To make a long story short, it runs, but I can't figure out for the life of me how to map keys. I've tried the INPUTMAP up up etc. thing, but the menus just won't respond. They respond just fine to start (enter) and select (esc,) but I can't get any other keys mapped.
Anyone know how to do this?

its been a while since I used dosbox, so it may have changed, but try these:

in the [autoexec] section of the config file,
either
define all your INPUTMAP commands before you mount drive c:/
or
after mounting drive c:/, run the INPUTMAPs from drive z:/
(like this: Z:/INPUTMAP up up )
