Running Emulation On The GC (Help)

I was just wondering who everyone is getting emulation running on there GC using PSO. Do i have to be online or can i just connect my pc to the GC using a Lan cable and some sort of PC program. Also do i have to be on Highspeed to run PSO in order to get this to work.
