Okay I've asked on each of their various threads, but got no replies. As you can see I'm using 3.52 M33-4, with the kernal set to that, so Quake's in GAME and Doom/Duke 3D are in GAME150 IIRC.

Doom (http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=81447) :
Works great, but whenever I choose to save or load my psp crashes.

Duke3d (Build 98) (http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=81345):
Again, works great until I get to the second level - where it then crashes the PSP without fail

Quake (http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=79042):
Haven't managed to get this one working at all. Used the PSP_Quake1_HW_UM, put the dn1 folder inside along with an MP3 folder, holding the 10 mp3 files. Here's the error:

Links to their respective threads are above the explanation. Hope someone can help! Cheers...

Your not using an 8gb memory stick are you?

I'm not sure about doom. I used to play a version that worked fine, the version you linked to says it runs under the 3.x kernel. I'm running 1.5 so you'd have to ask someone else about that one.

The current Duke3d PSP port is very buggy, It crashes for me on loading the 2nd level, and for many others (it was discussed in the release thread).

Quake: You meant you copied the 'ID1' folder yeah? There is no 'dn1' folder in a default install of quake 1. Those errors don't come up for me (those commands are not listed in my config.cfg file). Try deleting the config.cfg file from your ID1 directory (quake should rebuild a default config file). I'm using HW_KM not HW_UM, I don't know if running the kernel mode version would work any differently.

First off: THANKS!! I've just tried Doom under the 3xx kernal and it works perfectly WITH save/load support! :D

Which leads me on to your first question - yes, I am using a 8GB memory stick. However - it's usual problems haven't arisen since i formatted it and put the 1.50 kernal stuff on first, and then everything else. The reason Doom was in the GAME150 folder was most likely because I couldn't get it working in 3xx because of my 8GB stick causing problems, but now it's working perfectly in its intended folder!

As for Duke3d, yeh I had read its thread, but I dunno, it didn't look like everyone was having as consistent a crash as I am? Oh well...

As for Quake, yeh sorry. I meant ID1, confused it with something else. I've just deleted the config file (well, from the folder - I've still got it on my PC) and sadly, it hasn't helped:

No probs, I'm glad doom is working for you now, and you don't have the errors in the quake console. The fact it doesn't go any further is quite a problem though.... :(

Theres no sound or anything? Just the console like that and it never slides away to the top of the screen. Mine sits at that same console screen with the same info for about 4-6 seconds with the memory stick light flashing, then it turns transparent and slides up to reveal demo1 playing and the menu.

Did you try the HW_KM version instead of the HW_UM one? I dont see why that would help but worth a try I guess.
There is a new version of quake (http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=85515) by jurajstyk (same guy behind the awesome version you're trying to use). I haven't tried it myself yet and the 1.0 should work on custom FW.

All I can think of is that its something to do with the 8gb mstick. Do you have the original 32mb card that came with the PSP? You could try putting psp quake on that with just the shareware pak0.pak and seeing if it works.
An 8 gig stick really isn't a good idea if you want to use any homebrew based on 1.5. Problems with things not working, but deleting them and re-copying gets them working sometimes. You could probably cause some corruption of other things on the stick if your writing to the card from an app running under 1.5 (save states etc) too.

If PSP quake doesn't see the pak file(s) it gives an error without ever loading to that screen so that's not it.

I'm not running custom FW so I cant be of much help, hopefully if anyone else has had the issue and worked it out they can post the fix for you.

Hey. I think the problem's with my ID1 folder, as I've just tried the shareware version and it works fine. Yeh, it starts listing those things, and then crashes, turning itself off 15 or so seconds later. I tried the HW_UM and it wouldn't even get to that screen, just crashed straight away - possibly to do with 1.5 homebrew only working on my 8GB if it's one of the first things installed. Ah well, I'm happy playing the shareware version for now. Thanks for the help !

No probs, glad to help.
If re-copying works then its likely an issue with the memory stick. You could try finding another source for the pak (pak0-3) files and see if they work.

Using a memory stick 4gb or smaller would probably solve the issue altogether.

Great - I'll have to try it. But for now I've got a demo to complete! :D

You're a Godsend bah !
