CPS2 on Dreamcast?

howdy Eviltaco64 , i spoke to a emulation writer a few years back about a CPS2 emulator on DC and he said it would work but be very slow.

Similar to the NeoGeo... - I imagine that with Fox68k's FAME and FAZE and a lot of optimizations to the sound and video code it should be possible.

Also, how well does AES4ALL work? If that runs games at a decent speed, then CPS2 wouldnt be that much harder, right?

Overall, Neo4All/CD performs better because AES4All does have to access the entire ROM from CD, even if it's bigger than the Dreamcast's RAM. That's no issue with smaller games though so apart from that it runs full speed.

I imagine it would be similar with CPS2: Games that vastly exceed the Dreamcast's RAM will never run perfectly but all that are about 26 Mbytes or smaller in size (uncompressed!) could perform full speed.

CPS2 emulation is practically identical to CPS1, in fact the CPS2 emus were written a long time ago (mame for example) but the only trouble was the encription.
I think that the mame4all could run some CPS2 game, but it lacks a MMU and the speed of AES4ALL. A good idea from my brother is that a rewrite of AES4ALL can make something of a CPS4ALL...
