Hi, I have done some reading up after purchasing a PSP with a (supposedly) 2 GB memory stick. After attempting to pile on some emulators and homebrew games (Newton war and Hexen specifically) I got a error saying something along the lines of cyclic redundancy check.

I have read this means that this is a counterfeit memory card, and it's serial number matched the fake ones that Japanese kid from kyoto was selling.

So. My question is, is it possible to bypass this? My computer and PSP recognize roughly 2 GB of space, but I can only use about 1 GB.

Try formatting it through the pc in fat32 and then reformat it using the psp and try again.

Most likely a buggered card and you'll need a new one, as hodgy47 said try formatting it via windows, make sure 'quick format' is not ticked.

Where did you buy it from? You have to be pretty brave/stupid (I'm not sure which) to buy memory cards from ebay. :)
