Mozilla promised that Firefox OS was getting a gigantic interface redesign (http://www.engadget.com/2014/02/23/firefox-os-revamp/) later this year, and it's now clear just how ambitious that remake will be. Ahmed Nefzaoui (https://twitter.com/AhmedNefzaoui/status/453304828962549760) and Soren Hentzchel (http://translate.google.com/translate?sl=de&tl=en&js=y&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.soeren-hentzschel.at%2Fmozilla%2Ffirefox-os%2F2014%2F04%2F06%2Fdesign-vorschau-auf-firefox-os-2-0%2F%23%21prettyPhoto&edit-text=) have provided a detailed look at Firefox OS 2.0 that shows off its thoroughly modern style. There are flat surfaces everywhere, and even more transparency than in current versions (http://www.engadget.com/2014/02/23/hands-on-zte-open-c/); both the lock screen notifications and task switcher have taken on a decidedly iOS 7 (http://www.engadget.com/2013/06/10/ios-7-announced/)-like (not to mention more useful) layout. The preview also gives a better glimpse atEverythingMe's (http://www.engadget.com/2014/02/06/firefox-launcher-for-android/) contextual search, which produces both app and web results. You'll still have to wait a few months to see 2.0 reach shipping hardware, but this close-up suggests that your patience will pay off.
