Gpsp definately works cos i am using it on 3.90m33, Make sure it is in your GAME folder and that the kernel for homebrew is set to 390 in recovery, As for dgen i dont know cos i dont have it, but i may dl it to try just incase is does work then i can let you know.

-EDIT- Try this one much more recent and this is the one i use you will need the gba bios but i cant provide them or a link to them.

Yeah, Kai is more sufficient because gpSP 0.9 is so old, and direly needs to be updated.

Um, quick question that could be a quick fix. Do you have 1.50 kernel for 3.90 installed?

Emulators simply won't work without it.

Oddly enough gpsp does work without the 1.50 kernel cos im running it on my slim with great success.

Well, emulators will work on the slim with the new firmware without the kernel. Adding 1.50 kernels are only for fats.

I have done that and it did not work. I just downgraded back to 3.52m33-4 and it works fine I will stick with that till I git a slim.

ssj: Do UMD games work?

Im thinking maybe you have a corrupt IPL, lets pray you made a backup

gpSP has worked without 1.5 kernel since it was born :) It is a Usermode app after all.

I wasn't aware of that. All I've ever heard is that it doesn't work without the kernel. Indulge me.

Hello all, i'm kinda new to all this. I just bought my psp and wanted to put map this on it. I made the mistake of updateing to the official firmware from sony (3.90) and now when i try to put custome firmware on it so i can use map this, it tells me no update is needed.....any way to get around this?

Pandora (http://www.noobz.eu/joomla/news/unbricker-for-all-firmwares.html)
Special battery + Specially formatted memory card
Boots PSP into service mod with direct access to flash nand.
Means you can write any firmware you like with the need for game hacks.

Battery
You'll need a battery that can be modded.
Essentially its the serial number thats changed.
You'll need a modded PSP to make the battery.
The Battery cannot be used to boot PSP normally after its converted.
(Technically yes its possible but requires a special memory stick mod)
Yes, it can be converted back to a normal battery.

The battery you will have to make yourself using a modded PSP.
The app for making it comes with one of the Despertar del Cementerio packages.
Or you can physically mod a battery to do so.
making pandora battery (http://www.google.com/search?q=making+pandora+battery)
You can also purchase a Datel Pandora Battery just for this purpose.

Memory Stick
You'll need a specially formated memory stick with the IPL installed on it.
This can be made without a modded PSP.
If your not a technically minded person and are easily confused by details,
there are packages on the net can be launched from your PC to quickly create the memory card you need.

I recommend Despertar del Cementerio Version4
But any one will work.
Each one offers a different set of firmware options to flash.
http://www.dark-alex.org/

How it works:
Turn on PSP with "pandora" battery and special memory card inserted
PSP recognizes the battery as a service mode battery
PSP goes into service mode.
Searches for BOOT info on memory stick (IPL)
Launches code from memory stick.
Follow instructions to Flash PSP with firmware (custom or official)

I'm trying to play gpsp on my PSP Version 3.95 but problem '80020148' keeps popping up - how do I sort it out? And what is this 'homebrew kernel 1.50' thing?
