Alright, I've had no problem updating my CF in the past, but I can't get 3.52 to update. Is this a common problem?

do you mean your having problems updating to 3.52 M33-4 or to the latest firmware 3.90 M33 ???

Whoops, my bad. I guess I should've been more specific. I've got 3.52 M33, I want to be at 3.90 M33. I tried to do it directly but of course it wouldn't work, so I tried to update to 3.52 M33-2 (the next logical step). The update process starts, but before any messages even come up on the screen, my psp freezes to a black screen. Updating to M33-2 is the next logical step right?

You need to be at 3.52m33-3 to go to 3.90m33 any lower and it wont work.

Yeah, I know , but the problem is I can't even update to 3.52 M33-2. My psp just freezes when I start the update. I got the update from DA's site so I know it's legit.

OK try these steps
1. Check there is no umd in psp
2. Make sure the update is in the GAME 150 folder.
3. Go in to recovery (holding right shoulder button on boot up) make sure the kernel for home brew is set to 352.

Yeah, I just did all that and the same thing happened, it just froze up. I've done this a few times with older updates but never had a problem. I'm using an 8gb card now, you think that may be causing a problem?

Hey Hodgy, do you where I can find a copy of the recovery menu settings, maybe I've got something screwed up in there.

Nevermind, the problem apparently was the 8GB card. I stuck a 2GB in there and it worked fine. Thanks for the help anyway guys.
