Right here is my little story.

My controller ports 2+3+4 was broken, so i got told to twist the F1 resistor. It broke off. So i had the idea to solder it all out, replace it with a wire. It didnt work, fair enough i didnt think it would, it broke ALL of my ports.

Then i went out and brought a resistor, soldered that in. Then i get the problem i had before 2+3+4 dead.

At this time, i was taking the controler board out alot, the fan wire is a bitch to take out of the controller board so it was getting alot of wear.

Boom, the wires snapped.

Now, through all of this, my dreamcast was never plugged into a TV, just mains so i could hear for the 'VMU beep'.

So, i knew the fan was dead, but i just wanted to boot it up.

I get to see the dreamcast swirl then the time adjustment (for about 1 second) then it cuts off.

So would the broken fan do this? or is my loved DC forked?

-----

Also, where can i buy a spare fan?

You might as well just pick up a new Dreamcast for $20 (not sure what that is in GBP).
