I have been suffering with dial-up for years until recently, when I got satellite internet, which is all I can get out here. My plan is supposed to be 768kbps download speed and 200kbps upload. However, I actually only download at about 100kbps, and I never tried to upload anything yet, so that actual speed is unknown. Is that fast enough to play online? I would love to play Warhawk, and buy COD4 again, now that I might be able to play online. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

if your plan is 768kbps you should have no problem, i have 860kbps and all is well with the ps3.

check your speed here (http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/) and post it. you could try calling your provider and see if they could help.

edit: sorry if your location is not listed you could try here (http://www.speedtest.net/) too

oh yea and if its possible for you to connect through ethernet do so, I find it better than the wireless and you might notice a small difference.

You cannot game using a satellite connection. The speed has little influence on the connection, its the latency of sending the signal to outer space and back again thats the problem.

I'm not doubting you, but is that proven? It sounds logical, but I thought I'd ask.

Someone asked this same question on the PlayStation forums. I told them the same thing I'm telling you, plus about 3 other people with satellite said the same thing.
