The downloadable media service for the DS, originally set to be released in Japan this March, will be pushed back by a month into April. AM3, the company that will be providing the service dubbed DSVision, says that they've run into some challenges with the system's hardware, namely the adapter designed to accommodate a special min SD card in the DS card slot.

Content providers want to see more save functionality with the adapter, according to AM3, which has lead to the delay while AM3 adds features. When the service eventually does become available, it'll provide content like videos and music, although no specific details yet on what that will entail.

... And I still will use my R4.

Honestly, Nintendo tried to take down Datel in France for selling the Games 'n' Music, that alone proves that the user-made solution is at the very least on par with the commercial one. Plus, you can't use a device which doesn't exist yet.

This is a bummer for me. I'm assuming from earlier press releases that this service will allow downloading of Japanese books, which is fantastic in my opinion, and I hoped it would come out while I was still in Japan (I'm leaving at the end of next month), but oh well. I guess I'll be using Play Asia (assuming I can even get an account on the service with what will be a US credit card).

As for most people on here who have no need for a quality Japanese e-reader app, I concur that this is pretty much worthless. Moonshell is fine for movies and music.
