Does anyone know or planning on added these.

They are on all the other platforms so why not the PSP.
Anyone else like to see these systems ?

Well to be fair the Lynx didn't have many "Classic" games. I ahd one and can't think of one game I would like to play again.

And the 2600? LOL it sucked, and I had one of those too. Seriously, waht was it's best game? Pole position? Pit Fall? Pong!?

I would like to see a decent Atari Jaguar emulator though, that had a few decent games that were overlooked by most people. Alien Vs Predator to name the best.

Pitfall 2 ruled it's day

Now, come on!! The 2600 was a fantastic machine in it's time and there are a lot of people out there who own(ed) one and would love to relive their experiences on their shiny new PSP's. As for the Lynx, it DID have some classic games which I personally would love to play on my PSP (Let's face it, the Lynx is f*****g bulky by comparison!!!!). A.P.B, Chips Challenge, Warbirds and Hard Drivin' to name but a few.

APB was good but I think you can play the arcade version on MAME, Hard Drivin hasn't aged well at all. Never played the other two.

The 2600 was bad, just plain bad. Sure it was great 27 years ago! Thats a quarter of a century!

I never really enjoyed it when I owned one. The ZX spectrum was a million times better for game quality, I know it came out a few years later but that machine got me into games, not the sucky 2600. ;)

But on the plus side a 2600 emulator port would be VERY easy and I'm sure someone will do it eventually.

Seriously now, to say the atari sucked is unfair to the system. I mean, look how many classic games it had, that were remade for later systems. Granted, most those games started in the arcade. You don't see games anymore like Pitfall II, Yars Revenge, Frostbite, Riddle of the Sphinx. I could go on and on. Oh, and who can forget Combat, or air sea battle. CLASSIC! A system had to get the ball rolling for us would be gamers, and the Atari did the greatest job of that.

True, and I'm a big Atari fan, but I personally am not interested in playing any of those games now. They haven't stood the test of time well at all. Every game it had that was good has been remade MUCH better.

I play my 2600 more than my psp. Lynx kicks ass too. Just cause somthings old dosent make it bad. Every game that was good has not been made much better. IMHO they've been f&*&#^ up. ANd no ones remade Yar's Revenge to my knowledge....

now, games can be remade, sure....but the only thing that really changes in a true remake may be just the gfx and sound. the gameplay remains the same, so really the game has stood the test of time. Pacman is one that has stood the test of time probably more than any other.

I'd love a Lynx emulator for PSP but I can't see it happening due to lack of interest.

There is an open source one here:

Yeah "at the time" being the key quote here. I'm not dissing anyone for wanting to play Atari 2600, I'm just saying I would have no time for it. Got a LOT of better games to play through.

But hey like I said before, no debate required because I Atari 2600 EMU would be VERY VERY easy. Hell I could do it because it would'nt require any clever coding, just a straight port of any open source 2600 EMU would no doubt run 100% speed first time.

Not sure if there is much interest in coders doing it but any of you could learn how to and do it yoursleves in a few weeks, just takes some patience.

Why don't you do it then, If its that easy to do? http://www.whimsey.com/z26/z26.html
Source code is on the site. Consider it a challenge, I'm calling you out.
Since its supposed to be VERY VERY easy you should be able to do it in a week or less. I won't even expect it to play all the different bankswitching types, thats how nice I am.

Ouch. Too much assembly in that emulator. That would take a while to port.

Got any in pure C?

I don't know anything about coding, but here's the open source atari 2600 emulators I could find. (I believe Stella has been ported to DC and GP32)
