Can anyone actually load a PSX game on PSP versions 3.80 m33-5 + ?

I never managed to get PSX games working on 3.90 m33-2

I read about the forums, one post said this guy had problems with a version 3.80 m33-5 and it was fixed simply by downgrading to 3.80 m33-4

So i'm guessing 3.80 m33-5 and higher will not work with PSX games.


Anyone has managed to get a psx game working on 3.80 m33-5 and higher?

If so, how and which games are able to load.

i play FFVII on 3.90 M33-2 w/1.50K
no trouble
popsloader works for that firmware too

Yup, if people couldn't play PSX's on 380-5 upwards, I doubt many would bother upgrading.

i can play heaps of psx games on mine,i only have had a problem with mortal kombat trilogy (which ironicly is my fav psx game)and skull monkeys

I have the same problem. I have a slim on 3.90 m33-2 n I tried playing ff7. It loads but when it comes to the screen where it asks continue or start a new game. I click new game and it just black and it doesn't load anything. Any ideas why?

Use popsloader plugin to load the game with older firmwares. I use it to play Tomb raider 2 (runs only in 3.03 ) and Persona 2 (runs great only in 3.52).

I tried that but ever ver other then current I tried to run would lock up my psp(this is on the 3.80 m33ver-2 popsloader)

Same problem with both FFVII and FFVIII
Works fine till the start menu. Then you press new game and it just goes to black screen. System doesn't lock up. You can still press home and get the menu up and do everything else except play the game.
