What are my options? Can I only use the sony type (and sandisk, lexar clones) or are there other (cheaper) options?

Brands other than Sony are NOT clones, they are simply other brands. The Sandisk cards are better than any other brand out there.

well, if they arent the "duo" type, then you wont have much luck sticking it into your psp
theres a bunch of companies that make MS Duo's im sure. and its not necisarily "sony type", cause MS Duo's were also being used for a bunch of other things like cameras, etc long before the psp came out. So just go to your local electronics store and get a Sandisk MS duo i would recommend

If you give the card a bit of a poke with your finger, it should click in a little then pop out enough to grab the edge of it :)
