A line in its fiscal Q1 earnings report today also noted that forthcoming MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic had broken the publisher's all-time pre-order record.

As reported earlier today, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 has just hit nine million sales to date, boding well for DICE's forthcoming effort.

Riot Games' online strategy title League of Legends has passed the 15 million registered users mark, the developer has announced.

1.4 million players are apparently logging on every 24 hours, with a game starting every 10 seconds on average. Gamers cumulatively spend 3.7 million hours in the game every day.

An iPad version of acclaimed indie PC adventure Machinarium arrives on the App Store later this year, creator Jakub Dvorský has confirmed.

DICE has detailed some of its plans for Alpha and Beta trials for its anticipated multiplayer shooter, Battlefield 3.

The lowdown is that there will be two trials; the closed, invite-only alpha trial for which you are able to register your interest, and a more open beta trial for those who purchased a beta-labeled copy of Medal of Honor or the Limited Edition version.
