Upcoming PC shooter Planetside 2 will adopt a free-to-play model following the long line of MMOs that did so earlier this year.
The FPS MMO sequel from Sony Online Entertainment will include free-to-play in some form, but concrete details have yet to be determined, reports VG247.
The developer’s studio head John Smedley told 17173.com: “The game will be free-to-play. What form will it be? We’re still working that out. But here’s a hint – we like League of Legends a lot.”

Electronic Arts has pulled the iPhone version of its social game FIFA Superstars from the App Store, after players experienced problems playing the connected game.
The game started life on Facebook, where it currently has just under 2.8 million monthly active users. In late August, a standalone iPhone version was launched on the App Store, but swiftly disappeared again.

The pre-release build of the update has been “sanctioned by [creator] Mojang” according to Minecraft forum sectional moderator Opeth. The build is available, via one of Opeth’s posts, for download, however: “Any user found distributing the .jar or links to it will be dealt with and have posts removed,” asserts the post. “The links above should be used.
