German online game developer Bigpoint has confirmed that it will show off a browser MMOG based on A Game Of Thrones at GDC next week.
First revealed in a USA Today report in November, the game is based on George RR Martin novels and is being developed in Unity by Norwegian studio Artplant, which previously worked on Battlestar Galactica Online for Bigpoint.
Bigpoint CEO Heiko Hubertz said: "We intend to build a game that resonates immediately with [A Game Of Thrones'] diehard community of followers, while also creating an authentic gaming experience that attracts newcomers to the franchise.
"The excitement of online games is that, over time, their collective input will help shape the game's destiny; we're eager to see how the story unfolds."
Work on the game began last summer, and Bigpoint intends to launch a closed beta this autumn. GDC runs from March 5 to 9 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.
