Last week there was a great deal for the PlayStation 4, bundling remastered versions of God of War 3, The Last of Us, and the Uncharted games with a new console. The whole thing was going for less than £300, too. Very much a good deal. Though, one of the criticisms I had of it was, while all good games, every game bundled with the machine was originally released for the last generation.
This Xbox One deal, while providing fewer games, does at least show what this generation is capable of, packaging an Xbox One with Black Ops 3 and Halo 5. All for £309.

Star Wars Battlefront debuts at the top spot in the UK charts and has the fourth biggest week of any game this year.
The online-only shooter has the biggest launch for a Star Wars game, selling more than 117 per cent more units in its first week than previous record holder, 2008's Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.
Chart-Track also says that it is the fast-selling non-sequel PlayStation 4 title ever, selling more than Destiny at launch. The title also sold considerably more on PlayStation 4 than it did Xbox. 59 per cent of Week One sales were for the PS4; 39 per cent on Xbox One while two per cent were on PC.
Black Ops III holds tight at second place in spite of a 50 per cent drop in sales, while last week’s No.1, Fallout 4, drops to third place as sales decline 80 per cent.
FIFA 16 rises one place to No.4 as sales increase 14 per cent week-over-week, while Rise of the Tomb Raider falls to fifth position with only a 37 per cent drop in sales.

We knew it was coming, but now it's finally here. Samsung's newly improved virtual reality headset, the Gear VR, is launching today in the US for $99. This iteration of the Gear VR is, without a doubt, the most consumer-ready VR headset to date. One of its downsides is that it only works with Samsung's latest smartphones, such as the Samsung Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 Edge+ -- but that's great news for people who own handsets. As you may recall, Samsung's Gear VR is powered by Oculus software, and services like Hulu have already announced compatibility with the device. If you're Stateside, you can grab the Gear VR now from retailers including Amazon and Best Buy. As for worldwide availability, an Oculus spokesperson says that will be announced "soon."

Looking for a good deal on a refurbished Wii U, but don't like using Nintendo's clunky online shop? Now you have another option -- the company just openedan official eBay store, stocked with new and refurbished games, consoles and accessories. Don't expect to find any deals though: almost everything on the official eBay store conforms to current retail prices (fixed using eBay's "buy it now" feature) or Nintendo's existing refurb pricing.

The long-awaited arrival of the Master Chief on Xbox One has helped the console achieve a rare monthly win in the US.
November has become the second month of 2015 (the other being April) that Xbox One has outsold PS4 in the region. It did so thanks to an 81 per cent year-on-year increase in sales.
While PS4 still leads the US market, last year Xbox One managed to win both November and December – a trend Microsoft will be confident it can maintain.
“We saw amazing fan excitement, commercial success and critical acclaim in October for Halo 5: Guardians, which was the best-selling game in the US,” Xbox marketing boss Mike Nichols said.
“We also saw incredible reception for the new Xbox Elite Wireless Controller in October, which is now sold out at most retailers and we are working quickly to replenish stock. And October was just the start. Earlier this week Rise of the Tomb Raider and Fallout 4 launched, today the New Xbox One Experience including backward compatibility launched and many are looking forward to Star Wars Battlefront on November 17th – available today exclusively on Xbox One to EA Access members.
“It’s going to be an amazing holiday for Xbox fans.”
Nintendo did not share any hardware data, but did say that Wii U software sales were up 40 per cent year-on-year for the month and are up 20 per cent for the year-to-date. 800k Amiibo figures and cards were also sold in the period, bringing total US sales to 9m.
The overall console market was flat at $270m, with declines in portables offsetting the 12 per cent rise in next-gen console sales. The overall US October video games market was worth $806m, up two per cent year-on-year, but down on September’s $1bn+.
PS4 and Xbox One posted 62 per cent year-on-year growth while last-gen machines plummeted by 63 per cent.
Here’s the October NPD Top Ten:

    1. Halo 5: Guardians (Xbox One)
    2. NBA 2K16 (PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3)
    3. Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate (PS4, Xbox One)
    4. Madden NFL 16 (PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3)
    5. WWE 2K16 (PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3)

    8. Yoshi’s Wooly World (Wii U)
    9. Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection (PS4)

Blockbuster shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops III has shot to number one in the Japanese retail charts, fighting off a number of home-grown titles.
The latest in Activision’s franchise (which is published by Sony on PlayStation in Japan) sold nearly 150,000 units on PS4, with a further 25,000 on PS3 – the latter version took third position in the software rankings, according to Famitsu.
Meanwhile, Disney Magical World 2, a sequel to the original 3DS life simulation game, swiped the second spot. It shifted almost 70,000 copies in its debut week.
The only other new entries were local efforts To-Love-Ru Darkness: True Princess for PlayStation Vita and Fairy Fencer F: Advent Dark Force for PS4. The games sold around 20,000 and 15,000 copies to rest at fifth and sixth place, respectively.
The previous week’s best-selling game, God Eater Resurrection on Vita, fell to fourth position as sales dropped by around 95,000 in its second week. The PS4 version of the title vanished from the Top Ten altogether, despite taking the number two spot previously.

Every year in Las Vegas held an awards ceremony in the field of online gambling, which is called Global Gaming Awards. This year was no exception. The ceremony was held in late September at the Venetian Palazzo.

The highlight of the evening was the victory of Microgaming in two categories. The company specializes in developing games for the best online casinos and is one of the largest on the market. Developers of the Microgaming company won the main prize in the nomination "Best innovative design" for the game VR Roulette, and "Best Game of the Year" for the creation of online slots Jurassic Park.
CEO of Microgaming - Roger Raatgever, commented victory:
"We have created a truly incredible game that deserved to win. Jurassic Park - is a revolutionary product for computers and mobile gadgets, and we are incredibly proud of the victory. VR Roulette is also a great game and we promise that we will not stop on our achievements.
The company NetEnt, which develops online games, has been named "Supplier of the Year", and walked in the category of such "giants" as Playtech and Amaya.
Not without its surprises. The prize for "Best affiliate program" has received little-known Canadian company "Income Access", although the favorites in this case were 888, Unibet and Paddy Power.

The latest entry in Activision’s Call of Duty series goes straight to the top of the UK boxed games charts.
91 per cent of Week One sales were for the newer PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, while a measly nine per cent of units sold were for the the PS3 and 360.
This is the seventh biggest Call of Duty title in terms of revenue. This is likely the result of Black Ops III only launching on Friday – the first time in six years. Other Call of Duty titles launched on Tuesday, therefore we can’t really compare Black Ops III sales to that of last year’s Advanced Warfare.
Meanwhile, FIFA 16 rises on place to No.2. EA’s Need for Speed debuts in third place, too.
Sales of Halo 5: Guardians dropped 78 per cent last week as the sci-fi shooter falls from the top spot to No.4. Assassin’s Creed drops three places to No.5 as sales decline 55 per cent.
And further down the charts, a retailer promotion causes sales of Mario Kart 7 to shoot up 898 per cent to No.14.
Below is the software Top Ten for the week ending November 7th:
    1. Call of Duty: Black Ops III, Activision Blizzard
    2. FIFA 16, EA
    3. Need for Speed, EA
    4. Halo 5: Guardians, Microsoft
    5. Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, Ubisoft
    6. Minecraft: Story Mode, Telltale Games
    7. WWE 2K16, 2K Games
    8. Grand Theft Auto V, Rockstar
    9. LEGO Dimensions, Warner Bros
