    Apple sends out invitations to San Francisco press gathering.
    Apple has sent out invitations for an event on September 12 in San Francisco, where it's likely that the long-awaited iPhone 5 will be unveiled.
    After months and months of rumour, speculation and supposed leaks, in just over one week we'll finally know what Apple's next smartphone is going to be like.
    Probably...
    Because, you see, the thing is, there's still no 100 per cent guarantee that the press gathering on September 12 is actually about the next iPhone. It almost certainly is, especially when you look at the image on the invitation the company sent out (above). See the 5 in the shadow cast by the 12? If it's not the iPhone 5, then this is an epic piece of trolling on Apple's part.
    Furthermore, we still don't even know that it will be called the iPhone 5. Remember what happened with the iPad 3?
