Free-to-play could be the go-to business model for next generation console software on PS4, Next Xbox and Wii U.
That�s the impression given by Ubisoft in its post financials conference call.
A surprising amount of focus was put on the next-generation consoles in the presentation.
It�s interesting to think that publishers may be the ones to force platform holder�s hands this time. Traditionally publishers have been hesitant about the transition to a new wave of machines and, specifically, all the costs associated with that.

Gem signs Mad Catz deal

The new range of Tritton headsets will be distributed to major UK retailers by Gem Distribution.
The distributor and retail services provider will supply its retail partners with the latest Xbox 360 headsets, which come from peripherals giant Mad Catz.
Initial products in the range will include the 40mm Trigger Stereo Headset, the 50mm Detonator Stereo Headset and the Primer Wireless Stereo Headset, as well as a Ghost Recon: Future Soldier-branded Dolby 7.1 headset.
More models will follow later this year.

Skyrim map maker hit with copyright notice

The creator of Dragon Shout, a free iOS app containing a hand-drawn map for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, has been sent a copyright infringement notice by ZeniMax Media, parent company of publisher Bethesda.

UK-based developer Lionhead is working on an "MMO-like mulitplayer experience" for the next generation Xbox.
The confirmation comes from a job ad posted on Linkedin by the Microsoft-owned studio, which also says that the game won't be based in the Fable universe.
