I'm sure most of you have noticed the downtime that was due to the sites migrating to a new server and it now has a complete new system for news and content. Our old forum software was outdated and not secure. We're now using the latest vBulletin 4 Suite which allows for content, blogs and forums.

We've moved to a new Quad-Core (4x2.8 Ghz) server with 24 GB RAM and 2x1500 GB harddrives in RAID1 which will ensure that the sites load quickly even under high traffic hours.

We hope you enjoy your stay at the new DCEmu, don't hesitate to get back to us with your feedback. ...

The other day wraggster posted about a new server that was going to replace the old DCEmu server. The plan was to have the new server up and running this past weekend but the server move has taken a bit longer than expected.

However, the move is finally complete and you're seeing DCEmu hosted on a brand new server with the following specs:

    AMD Opteron 1356 QuadCore 64 Bit, 4 x 2.3 GHz
    8 GB DDR2-RAM
    2 x 1000 GB SATA-HDD in RAID
    Debian 64 Bit
    100 Mbit/s connection

I'm also looking to update vBulletin to the latest version ASAP.

Hopefully this should speed up the delivery of pages when the traffic is high. ...

UPDATE - Im sure you have noticed slow down at a lot of the sites where the forums are still super fast, thats because of new security measures, once some files are changed all sites will return to normal.

Around 8 PM GMT last night a large section of Intergenia's network (which our server is on) went down due to routing errors in the Frankfurt data center. This issue has now been resolved.

We appreciate your patience during the downtime.

Saqib, our good friend and author of PCSX2, has asked of us to help in the Pakistan relief effort. Saqib was born and lives in Pakistan. Many of his family friends have been killed from this earthquake which killed 20,000-30,000+ people. Every little donation helps, so if you feel you could contribute, please use the donation button below (Paypal):

All the money collected from this relief effort will be sent to Saqib's bank to donate to the country. Even a dollar might mean an entire meal for a family for 2 days! This news post will be "sticky" and always show on top of Emulation64 during the effort. Please view the text file below for more donation options.

My very good friends at our sister site DCEvolution have done it again and released an excellent Homebrew rom package for the Dreamcast that you would think was commercial quality, heres the news from DCEvolution:

In association with the great people at smspower.org we present to you the ultimate image with everything Sega 8bit console related! Christusloeser started almost a year ago on this complete image and got help from many people of the scene along the way. With the recent release of SMS Plus DC 0.2 we finally could finish of this image.

This what you can find in the compilation:
    - About 100 SMS / GG / SG1000 ROMS, varying from complete games to demos
    - To be played with the included emulators: SMS Plus DC 0.2, SMEG 0.84 and Dream-O-Rama
    - Lot's of great nostalgic commercials for the Master System, Game Gear and the SG 1000
    - A special DCEvolution SMS VGM Player version
    - To round it off, several tools, lots of source codes and other stuff

Again this release couldn't be done with the help of many great people and we at DC Evolution would like to thank them all for their contributions.
