After 4 months, here is a new release which includes support for PSP Slim and 3.XX firmwares, the support for 1.50 has been dropped, as new hardware no longer supports it. This also means that you can now use the game in WPA authenticated access points which wasn't possible under 1.50.

This release also includes some small bugfixes, and the fix to avoid the nasty crash which was produced while playing the game with the midi background music enabled, so now you can play while hearing background music without unexpected crashes. It should be really stable now.

    • Code updated to 0.5.3 to be able to play on latest online servers
    • Game crash while playing background music fixed

    • Windows can now be dragged out of screen limits, to be able to see windows which exceded the screen height, such as the patches configuration dialog, just hold square pressed over a window to move it

New development version has been released, you can download it here, this is a preview of what RC5 should be, so please, report new bugs.

    ChangeLog for this release:

    * Key shorcut added for network chat (select + right)
    * Code updated to v0.4.7, compatible with latest version network servers
    * Added keyboard support using PSP OSK

To write text, cursor must be over a textbox and then press select + Left, it wont work if there is no active textbox/inputbox.

Currently keyboard support will only work on singleplayer, you can use it on multiplayer, but you will be disconnected from the game, it will be fixed on RC5. Code has been also updated to 0.4.7 to keep compatiblity with latest version pc players

There is no source code for development versions, as it takes some time to me cleaning the code, anyway you can ask me for it, and i will send it to you, if you are interested on contributing.

Remember that this game requires some data files from the original TTDX version, if you cannot find your old games cds, you burned them or used them as frisbee for your dog, this url may help you: http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?t=3407

(Look for ttd-graphics.rar or any windows version containing data files.)

Im glad to announce an available development version which enables wireless play for 1.00 and 1.50 users.

This way you will be able to play against other psp users using same access point or trought internet agains other unix/mac/windows/psp users, enjoy.

Im also hosting two servers "friendly" for psp users, anyway you can also play on any "normal" pc server, but some of them use custom graphics, huge maps or other features not fully supported on PSP. Servers are:

    * OpenTTD for PSP players Europe
    * OpenTTD for PSP players USA

I have managed to play fine against pc users on a 256x512 map containing 3 companies with 54 trains, 30 planes and 43 road vehicles.

Dont forget to visit http://openttd.teamjak.net to keep updated.

Remember this is a development version, so it could not work as expected, please report any not known issue.

    Known issues:

    * Access point selection interface is nasty
    * Connection lost, isnt tolerated
    * Servers window is to big to fit on screen
    * It gets disconnected from some high load servers
    * Doesnt have keyboard support
    * Not tested with dhcp connections
    * Some others i should be forgetting

    Usage Notes:

    * To change your network name, you must edit your openttd.cfg file and change the 'player_name' value
    * To play this release using wireless you must start it with network switch enabled, or load with switch disabled to play singleplayer.
    * Most of times you should increase cpu speed by pressing "start + R trigger"
    * Playing maps bigger than 512x512 isnt recommended
    * Poor wireless signal means getting dropped on multiplayer games
    * Please report

    Download
Please read the README and this noticie before asking about installation or any issue.

Well here is some info for this release:

This release includes many bugfixes wich makes the game more stable, it shouldnt "never" crash now during gameplay.

The scenario creation gui has been fixed to fit on the psp screen, so now you can create, save and play your own scenarios.

Mouse code has been also redone, the 8 axis emulation was a pain, now it should feel like a normal mouse.

    Here is the full ChangeLog:

    • Map button crash fixed & window resized
    • Scenario select window resized
    • Scenario creation toolbar resized
    • Dropdown menus from toolbar repositioned
    • News sumary positioning fixed
    • Crash when pressing rail construction blank space fixed

    NOTE FOR 2.00 USERS
This release has not been tested on 2.00, some users have reported me that they got some development versions working with save/load, and others told me it woldnt work...

You can try changing your eboot loader options, to use lower system frequency by default such as 200 or 222 Mhz, and maybe tune other values. Let me know if you got this release fully working on a 2.00 console.

And here are two screenshots about the scenario creation and map window.

Well here is a version that fixes fileio problems, which means saving/loading is now working, there is still too much work to be done in the gui. Im releasing this as playing without saving is a pain, and now i can continue porting more relaxed.

Also note that now there are 2 openttd packages, one for 1.50 and the other one for 1.00 & 2.00, i hope this simplifies the installation and also to avoid the language issue.

    The ChangeLog:
    • Fixed fileio problems, this enables
      - Save/Load scenearios
      - Save/Load scenearios
      - Play any of the four landscape types
      - Save ingame modified settings
    • Triangle deleting main screen fixed
    • Some debug messages added when missing files
    • Added screenshot support presing select button

NOTE FOR 2.00 OR GREATER USERS
For those having issues with the game here is the explanation, so please be patient and dont ask twice for the same thing.

The problem is the following, openttd keeps by default 8 opened files
and PSP just allow 10 opened files a as max, then it just have 2 files
to open left for save/load, screenshots or any other fileio
    operations.

Looks like fanjita loaders keeps 1 or even 2 files opened, so it will
produce malfunctions on openttd, i will try to contact fanjita to see
if he can free those 2 precious file descriptors in his loader.

NOTE FOR THOSE SUFFERING THE BRAZILIAN ISSUE
The release is on good working condition, it works fine for me uncompressing and copying files from a unix box, so i dont know if winzip or windows xp integrated zip is truncating files or what...

If you are installing this over an old release, just delete the old one and install the new one.

If you are still suffering the language issue, just delete the "brazilian_portuguese.lng" file under "/PSP/GAME/ottd/lang/" and rename your desired language to "brazilian_portuguese.lng".
