    Publisher: High Voltage Software
    Developer: High Voltage Software
    Genre: Arcade Shooter
    Players: 1-4
    Price: $7

    Overview:
gyrostarr is an arcade shooter that adds elements that no other shooter out there has done before, but is that a good thing?

    Gameplay:
Unlike most arcade shooters, The goal of this game is not to destroy waves of enemies that come at you, but to collect bright orbs that come at you every now and then.

By collecting this orbs, a bar located at the top of the screen will be filled, Fill the barr up to the first hoop, and you beat the level, fill it up completely and you go to bonus level.

    Spoiler!

Bonus levels are very easy to get and not fun at all, I found my self avoiding the orbs JUST so that I didn't have to go through the bonus level, What it is, is a regular level, except that the enemies are taken off leaving you with nothing to do, except collect orbs and bombs.

There are some power ups you can grab along the way such as three bullets per shot, rapid fire, bigger bullets, ect, unfortunately these power ups only last a few seconds, and there is no way to know precisely how long the power ups last (unless you count in your head while playing)

Aside from being short lasting, they are not very impressive, anyone could have thought of bigger bullets, and faster fire rate as a power up, but at least we are getting them.

Also, for whatever reason, you can blow away orbs and power ups with your bullets, something you DON'T want to do, which will make you stop and think before you pull that trigger, luckily, you can ether press up or down on the D-pad and it will launch some type of electric hook which will grab power ups and orbs that you may have blown off, or are simply out of your reach.

Three bullets at once!? what WILL they think of next?

Gyrostarr allows you to play with up to three friends, which is fun.....but confusing, That is why it is best to play with just two people, That way you won't be asking others which ship is yours and how many times you have died, just to find out that the ship you THOUGHT you were all along was actually your friend, and that sucker who kept dying was actually you.

    Graphics:
The graphics are average for a wiiware game, some power ups DO make bright and shiny bullets that may catch you eye for a second or too, but other then that, everything is pretty average.

    Sound:
The game features some ok beats but are usually overshadowed by the sound of bullets, explosions, and speed boosts wich may or may not be a good thing depending on what you like to hear, luckily you can go to the audio options menu and choose what you want to hear the most: Music, or Effects.

They are both at 100% as default.

    Replay Value:
Depending on whether or not you have friends to play with, the replay value will change, if you DO have friends then it is good, and if not, then it becomes a one time play through.

    Difficulty:
As a new addition to my reviews, I will be rating the difficulty of games from the easiest option available to the hardest. So I designed a chart to show how easy the easiest difficulty is, and how hard is the hardest:

    Spoiler!

    Conclusion
If you have a friend or two to play with, you just HAPPEN to have $7 on your pocket, AND you like this type of games, then I say GO FOR IT! but if you are an only child with no friends to play, and you could use the money for something else, then I would recommend you passing out on this one.

    PODCAST REVIEW BELOW!

    Overview:
OH NO! Kirby has been cursed! well, lets show everyone how we roll! in this amazing kirby game!

    Gameplay:
Unlike the rest of the kirby games, here, you control kirby by drawing a path for him with your stylus, this takes some getting use to, but later on you will be able to fluently move him arround.

You can tap kirby to make him attack and this will also absorb the power of anyone who has it, instead of sucking them in, he rolls faster.

As always, you play as a ball of fat and air named kirby, except this time, you have been cursed, so now your arms and legs have been removed turning you into a perfectly circular sphere.

Now that you are a sphere, you are trying to get revenge (and maybe your limbs too) but to do this, you must first go through a series of levels with bosses every three levels you complete; There are three different types of bosses, and you can choose which one to fight. (don't wanna spoil so I won't tell what they do)

In each level there are three hidden medals you can collect to later spend away on extras from boring songs, to new playable characters!

Gained some weight haven't we kirby?

    Graphics:
Even though the graphics are 2D, they look great, a game like this doesn't need 3D graphics, it is after all a side scroller. The backgrounds look colorful even when they are suppose to be dark, the characters are sprites, simple, but they fit in with the game's art style.

Animations are not often seen, characters walk and explode, very simple, it seems as if they had $5 to make the animations you see in the game.

This scene may have been scarry without the pink ball riding the rainbow.

    Sound:
The game has fun and happy music for the most part, but it is mainly overshadowed by the sound effects, you really won't notice that it is there unless you listen for it.

    Replay Value:
With unlockable characters and hidden medals, you will want to go back and play through some of the maps again (after you are done with a level, you can play it again at any time) it IS after all fun to play as a different ball of fat every now and then.

Seriously, don't be fooled, at first you will find nothing extra to do, but it is all in the medals, collect medals = collect fun. and then off course if you beat the game there is a special extra feature added.

    Conclusion:
It is too bad this game has no multiplayer, but it DOES have good ammount of content outside the main story mode, that is, after you beat the game.

and even if it didn't have the extras, story mode alone is one great reason to get it.

    Difficulty:
    Spoiler!

    Price: $19.99

    Overview:
Space Invaders is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a party that EVERYONE is invited to (just pay $19.99) lol

    Gameplay:
This time around, Space Invaders comes shipped with some strategy by giving you a power up every time you hit four ships of the same color continuously. On the right side of the screen, you will find a power up bar, once you grab a power up, that bar will instantly start draining, so you better use your power wisely. If you want to save the power for later, simply hold the right trigger.

If you see a shiny color changing ship hover across the top of your screen, hitting it will take you to a bonus level, complete that level, and you will be rewarded.

Aside from a new look and slightly new feel, A new element is added: BOSS BATTLES! Yes, you heard right, now you can easily see each and every pixel forming a ship.

Boss battles normally consist of one or two big ships, and a bunch of little ones, though the small ones may seem like a bother at first, DO NOT BE FOOLED! for they are the key to power ups, and power ups are they key to victory.

Only three to go, and this guys are in for a blast! (if you have played the game, you will know what I am talking about)

    Graphics:
Space Invaders Extreme. As the name suggests, the game feels like they gave "extreme" amounts of drugs to the game making YOU think you are high. The game has DDR like backgrounds which seem to swirl and melt as you progress through the game. Even though the space ships still look the same but shinier, The game overall looks great, And it is the small details here and there that make it so.

Is it just me, or are the aliens forming question marks? Don't worry, I am confused too.

    Sound:
This game has techno music as its companion to to the visuals and it works great, what is even More amazing, is that every shot and explosion created, fits perfectly with the song.

Each level comes with a brand new track that will keep your ears too busy to hear your mom asking you to clean up your room.

    Replay Value:
Like most arcade games, Space invader has a great replay value, you will find that whether you have five minutes or two hours, you will be able to pick this up and start playing.

normal bullets can usually do the job, but nothing beats a good ole hyper beam!

YEA! that's what I'M talking about!

    Conclusion:
Humpa doompa dompa dee doo, what do you get when you combine great graphics, addicting game play, and great tracks to go along? a must buy for you!

    Publisher: Tecmo

    Genre: Third-Person Action
    Number of Players: 1
Price: $15 (can be downloaded to xbox 360 hard drive)
or $10 if you can find a used copy in a store.

    OVERVIEW:

You play as a ninja by the name of "Ryu Hayabusa" and start out with a "special" sword, you later unlock more weapons and moves as you SLOWLY progress through the game by violently slaying fiends (demons, monsters, evil creatures, my LMS teacher, call them what you will) with well lasting AND animated combos.

    This kunai smells funny

    GAMEPLAY:

The gameplay is simple, go in a room, get killed, go in it again, and try to survive by locating patterns in you'r eneimes movements, block and counter attack when needed, or simply smash every face button on the controller and hope for the best, as the enemies fall, they will drop orbs that can ethr give you health or money to upgrade your character.

Aside from having weapons, you also have magic called "NIMPO" you can preform this spells when you are found in a difficult situation as they will assure you a critical hit on an enemy, even on one of those amongst the most law defying fiends. But use them with caution, as this "NIMPO" will not come back on their own, you have to recharge them with a potion that costs money.

Hmmm....is it just me, or is the big guys face inside out.

    GRAPHICS:

This game looks better then most if not all wii games out there, seriousley, I am very surprized by what the regular xbox can do, the level of detail on ryu is astonishing, from the metal plate on his head, down to the kunais found at the side of his legs, everything is very well polished and well thought out animations can only help.

CLICK THE LINK TO VIEW THE PICTURE (it ecceeded the 500 pixels width rule)
    http://64.78.9.175/media/games/21/ss/6.jpg

    SOUND:

Depending on what weapon you choose to adopt as your own, you will hear different sounds, if you have a sword you will hear constant metal bashing against the your oponent's armor, if you choose a staff you will hear the sound of wood banging against whatever it is that you wish to hit with it, tho one thing you will always hear, is the sound of wind being broken by the peed of your attacks.

The background song MUST fit in well with the game due to the fact that i don't remember hearing one .

    REPLAY VALUE:

Once you are done with the game on normal difficulty, you can always go back and beat it on hard to unlock new costumes, other then that, i see no other reason to.

    CONCLUSION:

This game is going to spit on your face and laugh at you while you are naked because you just saw ryu's big breasted friend. The cutscenes are the most cinematic and well preformed I have ever seen in a game making you wish they were longer.

so, ya doin anything this saturday?

the explanations are simple, but pretty to look at

    OVERVIEW:
In this game, your goal is to defend your castle by killing the enemies that will be coming at you from the left, to do so, you need to upgrade you castle's strength, number of healers, mages, archers, and off course, you must have a steady and quick hand to launch up those little demons with their shenanigans.

    Gameplay: 4/5
This game has a surprisingly deep game play.
you start out with JUST your square shaped hand (that is what i can make of it, it may be something else ) and you grab enemies and throw them up, or down, fast enough to kill them, so far so good huh? but there is more, as you progress through the game, you will get new powers such as a bucket of paint in which you can drop enemies in, and they will shortly after become your allies, etc.

Tho it is too bad that on the later levels you NEED others to come and join you, otherwise you will be stuck on the same level for hours until you level up one or more of your powers to a certain point.

    Graphics: 4/5
This game has horrible graphic, fortunately, they were meant to be bad, so that makes them good
and it DOES fall pretty easy on your eyes, and you will also appreciate the fact that as the sun sets, you get a nice twilight looking effect, the clouds are held by string and they move quite fast, and the characters have pretty good animation.

    Sound: 3/5
I enjoyed the song from the title screen, and even tough some sound effects fit perfectly with the games unique art style, when you get farther into the game, a constant screaming sound begins to crawl on your ear, and it wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't the same two screams EVERY TIME over, and over, and over. again!

    Multiplayer: 4/5
Even tough the first 12 levels would not be hard to a three year old, when you go into the thirties, you WILL need a friend to tag along with you, and if one friend isn't enough, how about two more? that's right! this game can be played with up to four players!

    Price: 5/5
This amazing game is only $5! making it one of the cheapest games on the wii right now, yet, has a higher quality then most full priced games on the wii.

    Replay value: 5/5
Although not much changes on the second play through, that is not necessarily a bad thing, the game is complex enough to be played in a slightly different way, but simple enough to remind you that if you have ten minutes in the morning before you go to school or work, this game will be your best choice.

    Control: 5/5
Not much to say here, unlike the flash version of this game where you can constantly miss the enemie's head or don't throw them hard enough to kill them, this issue has been fixed on the wii version, the only times you might miss your oponent is when you have 25 guys on-screen at once, and you are just wildly swinging your wii-mote up and down while quickly tapping the "A" button hoping to throw some of those little guys around.

    CONCLUSION:
This game is worth getting if you are looking to buy a wiiware title, but don't want to spend a whole lot, it has great replay value, and i asure you, it will not grow boring if you have friends to play it with.

Pokemon Ranch also known as Pokemon Farm is a game where YOU (a mii of choice) are helping your friend make a ranch for pokemon by adding more pokemon to it (via ds wireless) by doing so, the farm grows in size from the inside out.

NOTE: You do NOT take care of the pokemon in this game in ANY way, you can't feed them, pet them, or play with them.

    GAMEPLAY:
OK, in this game, you can look at the pokemon you have withdrawn from your copy of "Pokemon Diamond/Pearl" into the farm and you can..............take pictures of them, and make them look at you....and...........this is pretty much a mii channel for your pokemon, they walk arround interacting with eachother and you smile because they are making funny faces or animations.

You can see if your friend wants some specific pokemon for his/her farm (not sure wether it is a boy or a girl) then go to your pokemon game on the ds and catch it, take it to your farm and you might be rewarded.

Every day, a new pokemon joins your farm, but it is chosen at random and there is as far as I have seen, no way to get rid of them, this could becoma a problem after a while due to the fact that you may end up with an army of one specific pokemon.

I knew they would take over the world some day! and to think no one belived me!

    GRAPHICS:
The amount of detail put into each and every pokemon is astonishing! You can tell right away that each leg was greatly taken in consideration before any walking, running, or jumping animation was formed..........that is what I would have said if this game had been released 17 years ago, in reality, this game brings disappointment to anyone looking forward to seeing their pokemon on screen as they did on "Pokemon: Battle Revolution"

On the bright side, attacks look alot better then they do on the ds game, contact between two pokemon is made when a tackle occurs, a flame attack will reach the opposing pokemon, ect.

    hmmm.....pikachu's ears are floating.

    SOUND:
There really aren't alot of sound effects in this game, or music, but what is there is there and it works.

I see you guys like to be happy, well I got a friend you should all meet, his name is (insert a bad guys name here)

    REPLAY VALUE:
This game has a pretty good replay value, even though there isin't a whole lot to do, but just looking at what you'r pokemon are doing is interesting enough to keep you watching for a while.

    CLOSING COMENTS:
If you own a ds, a copy of "Pokemon Diamond/Pearl" and you REALLY enjoy pokemon, then this is a game you won't regret buying, but if you don't, then there really isn't a whole lot of fun to be had here.

    I hope you enjoy.

Published and developed by: Frontier Developments
    Genre: Adventure
    cost: $10.00
Number of Players: 1 or 2

    OVERVIEW:
One of the first things i would like to point out is that this game looks better then most full priced wii games out there thanks to its beautiful enviorment and artistic look, i still haven't goten tired of just looking at the game and shaking things around with wind.
The point of this game is to explore and solve puzzles with the wind as you get new powers.

    SOUND:
this game doesn't have alot of sound effects, but what it does have. is a wonderful and relaxing background song that goes seemeengly with the game.

    CONTROL:
you control your character with the nunchuck and the wind with the weemote, both are very responsive.

    GRAPHICS:
gorgeous waterfalls, mountains, trees and even caves along with an equally impressive art style. make this game fun to look at.

    GAMEPLAY:
this is an adventure game with some puzzle solving on the side.
the main puzzle is figuring out what to do next and where to go. due to the games lack of direction, there is no map or arrows telling you where to go, the only arrow i found was one pointing towards a powerup that was right netx to it, as if i needed it to figure out that the big shining rock was special. the game is also very short, about three and a half hours long and not alot of replay value.

    REPLAY VALUE:
Unfortunatley, once you beat this game, there is virtually no reason to go back to it other then to play arround with the wind and to obserbe the beautiful enviorments, it is quite a relaxing experience, specially with the soothing music playing on the background.

    CONCLUSION:
This is in my opinion the best wiiware launch title out there, so if you want to dip your toe in a gorgeous and interactive experience brough to you by wiiware, take off your socks and take them to your nearest pawn shop, purchase 1000 wii points, and download this sucker.

I give this game: four out of five stars

DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0 or higher
    Sound: DirectX 9.0c-compatible sound card

I'm in a tunnel! and at the end I see a light! no!!!!!!

    OVERVIEW:

Audiosurf is a Music/Puzzle game in which the player selects a song, and then "surfs" it. While surfing a song of choice (any .mp3 file in you'r pc's hard drive) you are given the option to ether collect, or dodge colorful blocks that come at you.

    Gameplay:

Picking up from the overview, if you choose do dodge blocks, then its all good and simple for the most part, but if you choose to collect them, then you are forced to arrange them in order by color, get four or more of the same color of blocks together and they will disappear allowing you to collect more, the more you collect and dissapear, the higher your score.

You can control your ship with the mouse or keyboard and this is how a single screen multiplayer version of this game has been made possible, though it may not be the greatest multiplayer game ever, it holds up fine.

Is this ride "groovy" or what?

    GRAPHICS:

This game features a pretty simplistic/shiny art style, the blocks are shiny blocks, your ship is a shiny ship, there are also some shiny waves arround followed by some more shiny stuff that I can't tell what it is in the back ground,e.c.t. and that makes it fine to look at.

    http://www.brandonspcx.com/images/bl.../audiosurf.jpg

    SOUND:

With most music games there will be songs that you like and songs that you won't, but since you choose what song you want to play out of your hard drive, this game's sound is as good as you make it, all other sound effects can be customized and even removed.

Yellow and grey don't go together!

    REPLAY VALUE:

This game has over 10 different characters to choose from all offering a slightly different experience, and the amount of levels is as big as there are sounds, this is a game that will only get boring, when the song you are playing becomes boring.

    http://ladympire.com/wordpress/wp-co...acter-list.png

    CONCLUSION:

If you don't like music games, then there is not much for you here, but if you DO, then this is that one game that both you and I were dreaming off; Want new songs to play? download them! get them from a cd! whatever! any .mp3 file works!

Unfortunately, this game is only for music fans out there, and it would not be fair for me to rate it highly simply because I like music games, a game should aim to appeal to all users, so i can only give this game a:

Overview: Rocket Riot is one of those titles that seemed to have pooped out of nowhere, Until the review code came up, I hadn't heard about this game at all. After playing this game, I realize that I am not the only one who is unaware of its existence.

Gameplay: Rocket Riot controls much like Geometry Wars. You move your player around with the left thumb stick, and shoot by aiming with the right one, except the longer you hold the stick in any direction, the more momentum the rocket will have. There are many different enemies to fight against such as zombies, robots, monsters, aliens, ect, but they all die in one hit so you are pretty much fighting the same enemy with a different skin, "Hey look! I am in a room full of zombies! OH LOOK! NOW I am in a room full or robots!....and they are behaving exactly like the zombies did on the last level...".
You can "Customize" your own character which is nice, but this only goes as far as choosing a character, its primary color, and its "Detail" color. Every enemy you kill is unlocked as a playable character aside from bosses, and there are PLENTY of these, you can really get picky with what character you end up with because the guys who made the characters really made a wide range of them.

Even tho there are 80 "different" levels in this game, most of the stuff is incredibly repetitive. Level one, defeat ten guys, level two, defeat fifteen guys, level three, defeat twenty guys, ect. Then there are also the levels where you have to search and destroy a character. Level four, find him, level five? find him again...... Twice. There are a couple of other game variations that you will have to do throughout the main single player story mode over and over and over again with a slight change to "justify" that it is a new level *sigh* and those tedious football mini games, why don't YOU take a guess before reading huh? Level one, score one goal....Level two, score TWO goals! WHOA! This is a brand new experience! NOT! After level thirty five I had to force myself to come back and play the game so I could review it.

Lets not forget tho, this game supports online multi player! well...no, not really, even tho the mode is available, there is absolutely NO ONE playing the game, and if I didn't have to review this game, I would have stopped long ago myself. I tried going into quick player and rank matches, custom matches, ect. But every time I searched I would, to my surprise find that there is no one else interested in having a go at it online. It is a shame too, I would have loved to complain about this game with other people who bought it and ask "So why did YOU buy the game?".
To be fair tho, I can see how the online mode would be fun, but as of now, since I haven't been able to find anyone else to play against, my guess is just as good as yours.
Everything you see can be destroyed because it is made with "Pixels" that act as individuals, this is probably one of the funnest things to do because it just feels great to destroy, they made it work and they made it fun.

This image only shows a fraction of the characters you can choose from.

There are a couple of power ups in this game that you will find by destroying the environment. These are split up into four sections: Green power ups improve your fire power by adding faster fire rate, or increasing the size of your rockets etc. Blue power ups increase your defense by giving you upgrades such as health recovery. Yellow power ups are useless but "fun"; They turn your rockets into game balls or increase the size of the explosion that your rockets create when they collide. And lastly there are red power ups, or rather, power downs; These are harmful to you and should be avoided at all costs unless you wanna be a rocket magnet or you want the ability to shoot rockets to be taken from you.
Aside from the main single player campaign and the multi player mode, there is the "Endurance Mode" where you fight wave after wave of enemies (Much like in the single player campaign); And the "Play Ground mode" where you will be able to use any power ups you want and will be presented with only one enemy at a time.

Graphics: Rocket Riot has a very unique visual style. From far away, you may think that the environment in Rocket Riot was made with sprite sheets pixel by pixel, But it is actually a 3-D game that succeeds at having a rather "old school" feel and look to it. The characters are built the same way but they look much sharper then the environment, sometimes it is even hard to tell ...

Overview: When I first got my PLayStation Eye, I was eager to try out some games for it, after looking around I realized that unfortunately there weren't many at all, and even less of them were good if any. Being a fan of nature I decided to try out what many call a "Fish Wallpaper"

Gameplay: There really is no gameplay here, you see fish and you can wave your arms around to attract or scare away the fish........that is about it, you can't feed them or anything. When you pres the "Start" button, a menu will pop up which will allow you to choose what fish you want to see and what fish you want gone, there are seven types of fish total. Having fish follow you around can be entertaining for a few seconds, in fact, as I am writing this review, I realize that this game CAN be a nice addition to your collection if you are found having to constantly wait for something for just a few minutes, this will keep you occupied for a very small period of time until your eyes start drifting away into more interesting things such as your walls or perhaps the floor beneath you.

Graphics: Its hard to say whether this game has good or bad graphics, the fish look pretty realistic but honestly, the PS3 can easily do much better, then we hit the fact that this game only costs $1.99 and we start to see that for a $1.99 game, the graphics are pretty good, but for a PS3 game, the graphics could use some extra work, it all comes down to the way you see things. Now ignoring the price and the console this game is on, the graphics could honestly be better, when fish get up close too the camera you can easily see they are fake, not to mention often times they carry blocky animations with them, and they have no self awareness of other fish around them, it seems as if they were given a path to follow and any other fish around them don't matter, so every now and then they will swim towards each other to the point of collision and just keep swimming towards each other until one of them takes another direction.

Sound: To be honest the only sound I ever hear is the sound of bubbles and the occasional "woosh" coming from the fish when they swim away quickly, a nice relaxing optional background song would have been nice. Even as you are scrolling through the menu you hear a bubble burst whenever you highlight a new option.

Replay Value: Once you have seen the first few seconds of this game you have pretty much seen it all already, the fish swim around but they never really do anything interesting, like I said before, the most fun you will have with this is having the fish follow your hand around, then again I don't think this game was made to be fun, but relaxing, in which case it fails to be so as well.

Conclusion: I honestly can not say that I am disappointed with my purchase, but only because I can see myself playing with this as I wait for a download to finish on my computer, or if I am playing "TF2" or "Gary's mod" and the new map download is taking a while, this would be the perfect thing to play. If you are lucky enough to not often have to wait a few minutes, I STRONGLY advice you look the other way because this game will serve no purpose to you. If you often find yourself with spare time and nothing to do, I can easily recommend this game to you.
