Apple is set to begin work on the next iPad, which will feature a slimmer, lighter design following the success of the iPad mini.
Digitimes reports that production of the iPad 5 will begin in July, with Apple opting for a slimmer design, which will be up to between 25 and 33 per cent lighter than its predecessor.
It's understood that the new iPad will incorporate glass within its Retina display, which is made possible by the use of new touch sensor technology. Meanwhile, a slimmer backlighting device will also decrease the device's bulk.
As Apple's Worldwide Developer Conference draws ever closer, expect speculation surrounding the latest iOS devices to heat up, with the rumour mill already in full swing surrounding a potential reveal of new MacBook devices at the event.
Of course, in traditional Apple fashion, all of the speculation surrounding these devices is yet to be confirmed – and don't expect that to change until June 10th, at least.

It's just been a few weeks since Netflix for iOS was suited with a novel audio menu and episode selector, but the app has now already reached version 4.1. While this particular release isn't as major as, say, v2.0, some of the post-play features that have rolled outon TV connected devices and PCs are trickling down to the mobile platforms. Namely, once an episode is over, the next one starts playing automatically without any intervention required (it requires a prompt to proceed after every other episode). In the case of movies, you can expect to see a new recommended selection once the credits roll, and Netflix also promises some other more minor improvements elsewhere in the app, including under the hood tweaks to its second screen experience. Finally, Netflix also announced today that it's signed a multi-year deal for five Disney Junior and Disney XD shows: Jake and the Never Land Pirates, Tron: Uprising, Handy Manny,Special Agent Oso, and JoJo's Circus.

KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes Apple’s fifth-gen iPad will be substantially lighter and thinner than the current 9.7-inch model.
Kuo states that the next-gen device will measure around 7.5-8.0mm and be 15 per cent thinner than the iPad, and carry a GF2 touch panel and A7X processor, reportsAppleInsider.
The GF2 touchscreen will play a big part in slimming down the iPad and help reduce power consumption. Kuo also expects to see a 25 to 30 per cent decrease in battery size.
The next iPad is expected to come with a new A7-series SoC manufactured on Samsung’s 28 nanometer process and launch in August or September.

According to a forecast by IHS iSuppli, netbooks are in their final days and will be extinct by 2015, thanks to the popularity of tablets.
For 2013, netbook shipments are expected to fall to 3.97 million units, down 72 per cent from 2012.
“The market for the small, inexpensive notebooks had steadily climbed for three years from the time the devices were first introduced in 2007, peaking in 2010 when shipments hit a high of 32.14 million units. Since then, however, the netbook space has imploded and gone into decline – fast,” noted IHS iSuppli.
The researcher seems to point the finger at Apple’s iPad when trying to explain the downfall of the netbook.
As netbooks hit their peak of 32.14 million in 2010, along came the iPad and it's at that point sales started to dip. Just one year later and there were over ten million less netbooks being sold.
"Initially intended for light productivity tasks such as web browsing and email, netbooks eventually became more powerful, taking advantage of a mature PC technology that allowed cost-effective implementation of various functionalities. And though never equaling the performance of full-fledged notebooks and lacking full notebook features like an optical drive, netbooks at one point began taking market share away from their more powerful cousins.
“However, netbooks began their descent to oblivion with the introduction in 2010 of Apple's iPad."

Overview : Ultimate Tablet Sleeve Protection. Safeguard your tablet with a properly fitted SleeveCase. Cushioned with high-grade neoprene and wrapped in a nearly indestructible ballistic nylon shell, the Tablet SleeveCase functions as a stylish stand-alone case or can be inserted into another bag. And no need to take your tablet out of its snug compartment when going through airport security—it's TSA Checkpoint Friendly. With its impact-resistant screen protecting insert and its scratch-free, screen cleaning Ultrasuede® lining, you're good to go. It's a slam dunk.

    Features :

    • Made of indestructible ballistic nylon shell
    • Stand-alone case or inserted inserted into another bag
    • Impact-resistant screen protecting insert
    • Ultrasuede neoprene interior lining
    • TSA checkpoint friendly

Quality/Usability : For photographers, we need a way to show our portfolio to clients. Some still carry around a binder with printed images while others are going more towards the high-tech route and using tablets to show their work.

As we transport our tablets or laptops to every location, we need a way to not only transport them but to make sure they don't get damaged. We do want to keep our devices as immaculate as possible so that it's presentable and not beat up. How you treat you items can also represent how well you maintain other items.

Since I purchased an ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity, I needed a way to carry my tablet around. I do have a leather case but there's no strap or handle. I would have to carry it around like a textbook thus occupying my hand. I wanted to see how the Waterfield Designs Ultimate Tablet SleeveCase would protect and hold my tablet.

The Ultimate Tablet SleeveCase is made of ballistic nylon shell that will help protect your screen from impacts to the front. It comes only in black. The flap has velcro on it to help close the flap and to prevent the tablet from falling out. The backside has a sleeve pocket that is big enough to hold cables, notepad or magazine sticking out (vertical).

It's available in two trim styles: lead indium and leather trim. The lead indium has a silver and black checker board look to it. The leather trim is just that, leather and costs an additional $6. The strap that is at the bottom of the sleevecase has a purpose. When you're pulling out the tablet, rather than holding the case, you would have one hand on the device and the other on the strap. This will allow you to pull the case away. You can also carry the case from this end but it is not recommended.

The flap cover is lined with Ultrasuede lining and is held closed with velcro.

The interior is made of neoprene liner that helps protect the screen from impacts. Also on the inside is a Ultrasuede lining that cleans the screen when you insert and remove the tablet every time. It won't remove everything but small particles like dust or crumbs. It's a perfect fit for the tablet. The Ultimate Sleeve Case are designed for tablets only with no accessories such as cases or covers installed. I personally like cases on my electronic devices to give it that extra protection.

If you want to add D-rings to the case, it would be an additional $5. The D-rings allows you to attach a shoulder strap if you ever need one. For $12, you get a Simple Strap Mini for the case and for $22, you get the Suspension Strap Mini (pictured above). If you have your own strap, you can use that instead of buying their own. Both the D-ring and strap are are well made and sturdy.

The Ultimate Tablet Sleeve is available for the Google Nexus, ASUS Transformers, Amazon Kindle, Barnes & Nobles Nook,Apple iPad, Samsung Galaxy Tab, Blackberry Playbook, Microsoft Surface, Motorola Xoom, Acer Iconia Tab and many more! If you're unsure of the size, Waterfield Designs has great customer service.

Conclusion : Overall, the SFBags Waterfield Designs Tablet Ultimate SleeveCase is a perfect fit for your tablet. It protects your tablet and makes transporting it easier and more professional looking. The quality is top-notch and well made.

There's been plenty of murmuring that Apple is working on a retooled fifth-generation iPad that's sporting the same design language as the iPad Mini and iPhone 5. The folks over at nowhereelse think that they've snagged a picture of the white facia for the latest iteration of the slate -- and the site does have prior form in this department. The biggest difference compared to the third and fourth generation devices is the narrower bezel that runs down the sides and those chamfered shiny edges, Word of the Day fans.

DigiTimes has reported that production for the iPad 5 will kick off in July-August 2013.
The publications says that sources within the Taiwan-based supply chain makers claim that the new iPad will be thinner and lighter than the fourth-gen one and will adopt the slim bezel design of the iPad mini.
This in in keeping with a report back in January made by Analyst Brian White, although White put the release date as early as last month.
The sources say that yield rates for key components, such as touch panels, will be a ‘major concern for smooth production’.
