The jailbreak scene has been slow ever since Sony blocked any jailbreak dongle devices with new firmware updates. There have been custom firmwares and updates to them but nothing allowing newer games to be played on your console unless you have the official firmware installed but you lose all homebrew capabilities. But out of no where, True Blue is dubbed the new PS Jailbreak 2. No one really know who is behind it but all that matters is whether or not it works, how much support it will get and how long before Sony does something about it. We've all purchased the various dongles when the original PS Jailbreak was released as well as open source versions. Now, lets see what True Blue has to offer...

There are pictures of True Blues coming with plastic cases. However, the unit I received from LighTake came in a anti-static bag. It's still the same thing, just not fancy case. The True Blue JB2 dongle isn't something we're use to normally seeing when it comes to jailbreak dongles. Yes, its a USB device but what makes it different is that it doesn't come in a plastic housing. The black housing is actually metal with the True Blue logo printed on it. Even the cap is metal as well. The back end of the dongle has a small window to display LED status. Other than that, there is really not much about the dongle itself.

To use the True Blue, you must make sure your PS3 has a firmware of 3.55 It can either be OFW (official firmware) or CFW (custom firmware). So if you're still using firmware 3.41, upgrade to 3.55. Anything higher than 3.55, you will need to downgraded. If you have other jailbreak dongles, you can use that to downgrade but True Blue can not downgrade firmwares.

    Setting up your PS3
Before you use True Blue, you must first install the 3.55-Dongle custom firmware onto your PS3. This is similar in function to the well known kmeaw CFW; however it also includes modifications which allow True Blue to operate correctly. The 3.55-Dongle firmware updater is distributed in a file labelled "TrueBlue-3.55-CFW.ZIP", and may be obtained through an internet search - once you have obtained it, please confirm the validity of the PS3UPDAT.PUP file contained within the ZIP archive by matching with one of the following hashes:

    MD5: 43C522F8897D77B6165F95BCF3409090
    SHA1: A64B010DB98996C7E53768D37D4D346F271D5950

Once you have confirmed that you have obtained the correct updater file, proceed with the update as follows:
    • Obtain a USB storage device such as a USB HDD or USB flash memory stick
    • Create a folder on the storage device in which to save the update file. Using a PC, create a folder named "PS3" on the storage device. Within the PS3 folder, create a folder named "UPDATE"
    • Extract "TrueBlue-3.55-CFW.ZIP" and you will get a folder. In that folder will be "PS3UPDAT.PUP"
    • Copy the "PS3UPDAT.PUP" file to the "UPDATE" folder created in step 2. Thus, you will have this path structure on your USB storage device: \PS3\UPDATE\PS3UPDAT.PUP
    • Insert the USB storage device into the PS3 and boot your PS3
    • From the home menu, select (Settings) -> (System Update) -> (Update via Storage Media)
    • The PS3 will notify you that the "3.55-Dongle" update was found. Select OK then follow the onscreen instructions to complete the update
    • After the update has completed, your PS3 will restart and you'll now be running the 3.55-Dongle custom firmware. This will also be visible under the System Software information screen. You may now enjoy the use of the True Blue dongle
(NOTE: The above procedure is only applicable to PS3’s on or below system software v3.55)

    Updating True Blue
From time to time, Team True Blue will release firmware updates for True Blue which will add new features. During my testing, Team True Blue released ...

I know, we've been a little MIA with vacations, work, newly launched photography website and a semi slow scene. But today, after getting off work and stepping into the house...SURPRISE! The new True Blue JB2 dongle was delivered. We weren't even expecting this in the mail. This is the newest jailbreak device for the PlayStation 3. Of course, we'll bring you a full review. • Supports all regions of consoles
    • Supports all regions of v3.6+ games
    • Rock solid crystal oscillator on board for flawless timing

You can purchase the True Blue dongle from LighTake along with a bunch of other gaming accessories.

    *UPDATE* 11/17/2011
Hmmm...it seems LighTake wasn't the one who provided it. Time to investigate... ...

    XCM Swapper for PlayStation 3
    Manufacturer: XCM
Site: Buy from Play-Asia / Buy from Amazon
    Price: $69.90

Overview : Many PS3™ shooting games do not give you the option to use L2 and R2 to aim and fire. But why be forced to use L1 and R1 to aim and fire if you're not comfortable with that controller setup? XCM Swapper gives you an option to swap those keys to suit your personal gaming preference. Not only can the triggers be swapped to however you want, but you can also swap any button (except PS Home button) to any position that you like. The XCM Swapper lets you do swap buttons that games won't allow you to do. Re-enjoy your games.

Quality/Usability : Connecting the XCM Swapper is pretty straight forward. Just connect your PS3 controller to the USB port of XCM Re-Mapper. Then plug the XCM Swapper USB plug to the PlayStation 3™ console.

    How to Use :
First, connect your PS3 controller via USB cable to the USB port on the XCM Swapper. Now, connect the USB cable from the XCM Swapper to the USB port on the PlayStation 3.

(1). For an instance, if you want the “/\” (triangle) key to replace the “X” key:
    a. Press the “P” program button once. The program indicator will light up. The XCM Swapper is now entering programming mode.

    b. Now press the silver printed word “X" button on the XCM Swapper. The “X” button indicator will light up in red. The program indicator will begin to blink.

    c. Press the yellow printed word “/\” button and the “/\” button indicator will light up in red. The program indicator will now stop blinking.

    d. If you want to remap other keys, follow the above steps “b” and “c” until you are done remapping. If you are done with your remapping of buttons, finally press the program button “P” once. All the indicator lights will turn off and this will exit the programming mode. Now you have the new setting included from the above steps; pressing the “X” key = “/\” key.

Note: the PS Home key can not be programmed.

(2). Swapping the Left and Right analog sticks.
Press the program button “P” and the program indicator will light up. Push the Left or Right analog stick in any direction and the program indicator lights will turn off. The functions of these 2 analog sticks are now swapped. If this step is repeated again, the function of these 2 analog sticks will revert back to its default function. This swap procedure does not change the function of the RC and LC key. The UP, DOWN, LEFT and RIGHT directions on the analog stick can not be swapped. This only swaps analog sticks. Left analog stick will now be where the Right analog stick is and the Right analog stick will be where the Left analog stick.

    (3). Display the programmed buttons.
By pressing on the program button “P”, some of the programmed buttons will be light up in red. On the XCM Swapper, press the program button “P” again to exit out of programming mode.

If you set the “L2” key to the “R2” key, “O" key to the “X” key, when pressing on the program button “P”, the yellow printed words “L2”, “O” and the silver printed words “R2”, “X”, will all be light up.

Note: the setting will be saved for the next gameplay (ONLY for the same game)

(4). How to clear the settings.
    a. If you want to clear a single setting, for instance: you had set “/\" key to replace the “X" key, press the program button “P” once. The silver printed word “X”, yellow printed word “/\” and program indicator will all be light up in red. Now press the silver printed word “X” program button once. The program indicator will begin to blink, Press the silver printed “X” program button again and the program indicator will stay red. The silver printed word “X” and yellow printed word “/\” indicator will be off. Finally press the program button “P” to exit the programming mode.

    b. To clear all the swapped settings, simply press and hold the program button “P” until the program indicator starts to blink. Release the button and the program indicator lights will turn off after 3 seconds. All the swapped setting are now cleared and reverted back to default settings.

Here is a video on how to use XCM Swapper for PlayStation 3:

Conclusion : Overall, the XCM Swapper for PlayStation 3 does what it's suppose to do and allow you to swap buttons. The fact that its plug and play with no extra steps to get it working is awesome. Some games already allow you to swap buttons but not all games do or give you complete freedom to swap buttons. With the XCM Swapper, you have full control of how you want to map your buttons to your liking. There was no noticeable lag during gameplay. ...

Welcome to the (new) DCEmu Homebrew and Gaming Network.

Earlier this year after being hacked we upgraded to VB4 and got hacked again, in that time we lost our websites because of software not working with the new VB4, thankfully after a lot of trying we got everything working again, so finally its time to present the (new) DCEmu Homebrew and Gaming Network.

DCEmu is as it has been since i joined all the sites under the DCEmu banner a network which concentrates on Homebrew, Hacking, Development and Commercial Gaming and Hardware News.

All Homebrew/Emulation Coders once we verify them (and i spot them) have the ability to post in all our Console News Forums and the news automatically shows on the site to which that news forum belongs. We always like to have an onsite mirror but gladly welcome the linking to your own site.

DCEmu can be used by coders to become their release centre and with the Homebrew Scene across so many scenes being so massive now you can quickly get noticed by a lot of sites including mainstream networks.
Now with the News forums, normal members cant start topics in them but you can reply to any topic, Normal Members can post as Normal in any None News forum. I get so many emails asking why he/she cant post in whatever forum.

And heres one for people using private messages to ask Questions, Please Use the forum to which the question would be easiest to get an answer as quick as possible. I get so many and i just ignore all of them (not to mention i have a massive amount of work anyhow). Also the users on DCEmu who use homebrew every day are tons better than me for remembering how to do homebrew on that particular console.

    How Can You Help DCEmu

This site like any site is a massive undertaking and we need help on every console scene. No site in any scene is 100% perfect on what they cover and totally up to date. In homebrew methods change all the time and only you the users can help others join in the fun. If your a specialist in any console area and you want to see all the news appear its a great way of making sure it happens.

We are always in the need of Tutorials and Guides and FAQs not only for Homebrew but for hacking and Development and even just for gaming on consoles.

Our DCEmu Reviews Website is also in the need of reviews of both Hardware, Homebrew and Games Reviews so please review as much as possible.

Newsposters are always in need especially for WIP and Release News of Emulators, Homebrew etc and across many languages, i am English and to be honest the the translation apps on the net are crap, but the more help we get the better we can become, ive also no doubts that there are releases in places like Japan, China and Korea etc that never reach the likes of DCEmu and others because of language barriers.

We got an email this morning from Team E3DIY with a video of their E3 FLASHER confirming that they have downgraded an PS3 firmware 3.70 to 3.55 on a PlayStation 3 Slim. They have informed us that no soldering is required for the PS3 Slim consoles but is required for the phat and it works for NAND and NOR consoles. It's a simple one click and takes under five minute to downgrade.

As per Team E3DIY, we have edited some of their wording to make it more understandable.

E3DIY team has successfully downgraded 3.70 to 3.55 with E3 FLASHER!

In 5 minutes, E3DIY team has successfully downgraded 3.70 to 3.55 with E3 FLASHER. Time is short and operation
is very easy, all thanks to E3 FLASHER special design, 1key operation and NOR flash on board!

We do not have any images of the E3 FLASHER because it is not released yet. We hope everyone understands.

The official version should release next week, more video and picture will be made public at that time.

PS: E3 FLASHER compatible with all NAND FLASH and NOR FLASH consoles. With Slim consoles, there is no need to solder wire but Fat console does.

We'll have more information of pictures and pricing when it becomes available to us.

Spanish Developer dospiedras1973, has released his method to downgrade Slim PS3 Consoles on firmware 3.70. PS3Hax member mximposter was nice enough to correct and provide an actual Spanish-to-English translation. As a reminder, this works ONLY for PS3's with NOR. NAND models does not have a downgrade available...yet.

Hello everyone, i finally got it, we have a downgrader for slims consoles , this time a bit different that i did with fat models, i made it by the two flashers, progskeet and teensy ++,dope

    We need:
fat or slim console with nor updated to 3.70 “DO NOT TRY With ANOTHER VERSION”Solution to write and read the nor of the console ( flasher progskeet or teensy + +)
hxd program (which I use to edit hex)
    FlowRebuilder v.4.1.3.2
a cold beer (this is important)
    Http://pastebin.com/yuvJ5Leh Downgrade.bin

First we dump our NOR with a flasher, the file size must be “16,777,216 bytes” no byte more or a byte less, take several to be absolutely sure of what you do..get the dump “example jakemcallister.bin”and we have to get it in flowrebuilder to make it readable, the option is called bytereverse dump and extract we do it and we will have a file but the extension will be bin.REV open it with the hxd and take out our personal data of the console EID, BOOTLOADER, CSID and METLDR

no need to put more data
We get it with the following way:in this case we get our METLDR in our prepatched image for downgrade attached in this tutorial inside the folder where flowrebuilder had placed our.rev also has created another folder called “nameofthedump.EXT”in there are our personal files of our console and we need to get some to place em inside the pre-patched image that i attached

Open the hxd and open downgrade.bin and the metldr file that is inside the folder asecure_loader, we pick the tab on the hxd metldr and copy all the HEX content to get in inside the downgrade.bin
press control + g and write “820″thats the position of the metldr right click on the first line of the position 820
And choose “paste writing” and in the same way we introduce the other ones
the files to get in are
    :METLDR: offset“810″ size “E960″
    BOOTLOADER_0 Offset“FC0000″ size “40000″
    EID: Offset “2F000″ size “10000″
    CISD: Offset“3F000″ size “800″

then we take the downgrade.bin with the saved changes and we get in flowrebuilder with the option bytereverse dump and extract
This time the program will give us a error, but is a normal error, in fact is okay and will give us a file called downgrade.bin.REV

And thats the file you have to get in in the “flash” console
if all went well at writing ,turn on the console and you will see in the screen press the ps button or in English push ps button, DONT PRESS ANYTHING, turn off the console and put it in factory service mode, once done we need to put the correct file system for 3.55 lv2diag of jaicrab without reader and a special cfw

    lv2diag: http://www.logic-sunrise.com/telecha...r-jaicrab.html
cfw: http://pastebin.com/03MFDLGV turn onthe console with the usbstick with these two files in the right usb port (in the last) of the console and it will shut down for 10 / 15 minutes, turn on the console without any usb connected to verify that you did it correctly it will take you to xmb,
If all went well turn off the console and put your lv2diag
    FILE2 of this pack:http://pastebin.com/gGETcxMR

the console will turn on for 20 seconds will turn off itself and CONGRATULATIONS you have your console in functional 100% and kmeaw cfw 3.55 100%

It's been almost a year since the PS3 was blown wide open with PSGroove and jailbreak days with the likes of PSJailbreak, Teensy++, TI-84 calculators and many more. Since than, the scene has been a little quiet with a few advances here and there. One of the hottest and most affordable jailbreak dongles at the time was the E3Card. After Sony had released new firmwares that blocked the use of dongles, the E3 Team has been quiet.

Recently, there have been advances in the mod scene and talks of downgrading from v3.70 Official Firmware. ProgSkeet [http://www.progskeet.com/] is supposed to be able to flash the NANDs and NORs of many PS3 consoles right out of the box. Of course, when there is a new product, teams and manufacturers jump on the bandwagon.

Today, I received a email from the E3 Team which they have announced that they will be releasing the E3 Flasher. E3DIY Team did not give me much information but from the information that was provided, it seems that it is suppose to do the same as what ProgSkeet does. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

E3 FLASHER, the world first flasher special for PS3, easier backup and downgrade, support dual boot, coming soon!

E3, create miracles on PS3 jailbreak, release free jailbreak, downgrade and Goldfinger, will release a full new revolutionary E3 FLASHER, include backup, restore, upgrade, downgrade and dual boot all in one. Following some details: (I edited some wording and spelling to make it a bit more understandable as their English is not the best — it's still not perfect English but I wanted to keep their original message as original as possible)

    • NOR FLASH ON board
    • 1 KEY backup or restore, simple is best
    • Dual boot, choose booting from original bios or E3 bios.
    • 3 save MODE, save bios to E3 nor flash, TF card or PC.
    • NO harm for console, but can longer console life because of specially design.
    • Integrated lots of interface, perfectly extension, will have more function with future new E3 accessory.
    • Compatible all slim and fat console, include latest 3000x version.

Don't forget E3DIY team, which free service always It said they were studying BIOS, Let's wait and see what happens.

AND please note the new E3 domain www.e3-tech.net, more details coming soon!

PS: E3DIY team note 3.7 downgrade, so maybe E3 flasher will downgrade automatically, no need modify on PC.

Thanks all guy whom contribute PS3 jailbreak.

    Hello PlayStation Nation,

While others in the space are losing steam, PlayStation 3 is gaining momentum and giving gamers everywhere more of what they want: an unparalleled line-up of exclusive games and access to the best in sports, movies and TV, all at a great value.

Today, I believe that value becomes even more evident. I’m excited to share with you that effective immediately at retailers throughout North America, the 160 GB PS3 and the 320GB PS3 are now available for $249 and $299, respectively. In addition, a limited edition inFAMOUS 2 bundle is now available at participating retailers across North America. The bundle retails for $299 and includes a 320 GB PlayStation 3, a copy of inFAMOUS 2 and a 30-day membership to PlayStation Plus.

Of course, PS3 owners also have free access to PlayStation Network and its lineup of marquee content services for watching hi-def movies, TV and sporting events. Netflix. Hulu Plus. Vudu. MLB.TV. NHL Gamecenter. We have them all for you…and it just keeps getting better.
