A console that is a handheld that is a screen is to me one of the best ideas ever, heres the news from Nintendo press release:

Nintendo Switch hits 10 million sales worldwide since its launch on 3rd March 2017, with a range of award-winning games including The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey already available, with plenty more experiences to come in 2018.

Nintendo Switch is a home console that can be played on a TV, and also taken instantly on the go – it lets people play their favorite games anytime, anywhere and with anyone. And since every Nintendo Switch system comes bundled with two Joy-Con controllers, players can easily share the fun of compatible multiplayer games with friends and family right out of the box.

The robust and diverse library on Nintendo Switch features two of the most acclaimed video games of all time in Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. At The Game Awards last week in Los Angeles, Super Mario Odyssey won the award for Best Family Game. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was honored with the awards for Game of the Year, Best Action/Adventure Game and Best Game Direction.

Nintendo Switch is also home to fun multiplayer games like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Splatoon 2 and ARMS that can be played online or with friends and family in the same room, as well as an ever-growing list of great third-party games like Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, FIFA 18, Rocket League, L.A. Noire, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Golf Story and Stardew Valley, Nintendo Switch is truly for any player.

“As you can see in people’s living rooms, on a plane or riding the subway, fans all over the world can enjoy playing Nintendo Switch wherever they go,” said Nintendo of America President and COO Reggie Fils-Aime. “The response from fans has been great, and we’re doing our very best to satisfy demand during the holiday shopping season.”

After a record-breaking 2017, Nintendo Switch will continue its momentum in 2018. The system will see the launch of Nintendo-published games like Kirby Star Allies, Bayonetta, Bayonetta 2 and a new game in the beloved Yoshi franchise, in addition to big third-party games like Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus from Bethesda, Mega Man 11 from Capcom, PROJECT OCTOPATH TRAVELER (working title) from Square Enix, Shovel Knight: King of Cards from Yacht Club Games and Runner 3 from Choice Provisions. ...

The Nintendo Switch hasn't been out that long and already the hackers have started on this console:

As expected after the recent Switch browser hacking mapping out sysmodules and gaining kernel access, game cartridges can now be dumped, and the scene group BigBlueBox already released a few titles. Check this forum topic for more info. Sorry for the late news post, been a bit busy lately."

For fans of WiiU Hacking heres some great news:

dimok has posted a brief tutorial and coded Linux tools to inject WFS blocks via USB over at gbatemp.net. This is primarily for those who updated to firmware 5.5.2 by mistake and are interested in restoring HBL or haxchi on their Wii U. I have uploaded a complete pack with a save exploit here. The procedure is pretty advanced, and the tools are compiled for a Linux (32bit) system, to use on Windows (or Mac) you need to compile/port the source code yourself. This also requires an SEEPROM dump from the target console.

For the last year ive been away from DCEmu and once you step away its hard to get back but I decided a while back that its time to go back to basics and condense all the sites as far as I can, get rid of meaningless sites and then when I have it all as I want it, get back to newsposting like I used to years ago, with that in mind, all our Nintendo News is now going to be under one site, that means all the DS, 3DS, Wii, Wii U, Gamecube, N64, Snes, GBA, NES, GBC, GB and any future news will all be together.

When I start posting news again we will host our files also and get back to the good old days.

Nintendo is yet to reveal the first details of its upcoming NX console, and we are unlikely to hear anything concrete until this year's E3 conference in June.
    The NX. Probably.

Regardless, the internet is in a flap about a new set of rumours about a home console and handheld hybrid to replace both Wii U and 3DS.
Adding fuel to that fire, today saw a marketing survey slide pop up on NeoGAFwith a fresh set of claims - and again, reference to the NX as a console and handheld device. Eurogamer has spoken to individuals who responded to the survey and can verify it exists.
Whether Nintendo commissioned the survey and to what extent its information represents the console's final form is another matter, however.
The slide describes NX software as having gameplay which "flows" between the console's home device and handheld.
Players will be able to earn and share achievements, surf the web and make video calls - so far, so believable.
But the survey goes on to mention "4k/60fps video streaming" and "gameplay graphics at 900p/60fps". Plenty of Wii U games are 1080p, which makes this claim stand out as odd.
Eurogamer understands the survey goes on to quiz responders on how much they'd pay for the device and whether they would want a console with a disc drive (or not).
Another question asks if users would be interested in a Netflix-style game subscription service.

The survey was posted by major market research company GfK, the same outfit which collects game sales data for Chart-Track in the UK.
Immediate reaction to the survey - especially the 900p detail - was negative. Although, as already stated, it is likely much of the information contained within was simply to test the waters. Consider the marketing surveys which Ubisoft sends out each year with suggestions for further Assassin's Creed. Some questions reflect features in upcoming games - which are by that point already well into development - while others are there seemingly to simply canvass opinions.
If this does come from Nintendo, it is probable a similar tactic is being used here. Or, if not from Nintendo, it is another company's best guesses.
The only thing certain at this point is that Nintendo will reveal details on NX when it is ready - either at E3, or to the Japanese newspaper Nikkei which will publish all the details online prematurely and spoil all the surprises (as has happened in the past).
    We've contacted GfK for comment.

Looking for a good deal on a refurbished Wii U, but don't like using Nintendo's clunky online shop? Now you have another option -- the company just openedan official eBay store, stocked with new and refurbished games, consoles and accessories. Don't expect to find any deals though: almost everything on the official eBay store conforms to current retail prices (fixed using eBay's "buy it now" feature) or Nintendo's existing refurb pricing.

Nintendo has patented a home console concept that does not include an optical disc drive. It may or may not be for the company's mysterious upcoming game console, codenamed NX.
Look, ladies and gentlemen, there's no disc drive anywhere...

As seen in a Nintendo US patent discovered by astute NeoGAF readers, this upcoming hardware's early version version didn't include such a drive.
"The example system is not provided with an optical disc drive for reading out a program and/or data from an optical disc," the patent stated. "An example system includes an internal hard disc drive storing a program and/or data, a communication unit transmitting/receiving a program and/or data via a network, and a processor executing a program stored in the hard disc drive to perform game processing."
Furthermore, it appears that the console's controller will include its own "display unit", ala the screen on the Wii U GamePad.
If it is for NX then there's still always a chance things will change before launch. After all, the Xbox One nearly didn't have a disc drive, we discovered after the fact.
Nintendo teased the NX back in March, but didn't reveal anything about it other than it's a "dedicated game platform with a brand-new concept" and more details will be revealed next year.
We've reached out to Nintendo for comment on this one, but it seems unlikely that we'll receive any confirmation one way or another this early. In the meantime, try to take this with a grain of salt.
