Samsung is learning to navigate the US regulatory maze quickly; its Galaxy Premier has already passed through the FCC mere days after it hit the newswires. The approval is very much a mixed blessing, however. While it helps confirm the hinted-at Superior codename and shows that HSPA 3G will work on AT&T and larger Canadian carriers, it's clear from the frequency mix that there's none of the LTE-based 4G that North American providers would demand for an official deal. While we weren't bracing ourselves for the Premier crossing the oceans, it does mean that Americans wanting Samsung's not-quite-a-Galaxy-S-III will have to either score a cheap import or hope one of the US networks has a change of heart.

    2. PS3 News

The Mass Effect Trilogy will arrive on PS3 just a month later than it does on Xbox 360 and PC.
The Xbox and PC SKUs will be released in Europe on November 9th. The PS3 version will subsequently be released on December 7th.
Mass Effect Trilogy includes, as the name might suggest, all three releases in the famous sci-fi RPG series dating back to its debut release in 2007, its 2010 sequel and the most recent outing, 2012’s Mass Effect 3.
It’s the first time that the original game in the trilogy has been available on the PS3.
The DLC included in each SKU will differ, oddly.
The Xbox release includes only Mass Effect 2’s Cerberus Network but not any of the content released for the other two games, though this is available to buy separately. The PC versions adds free downloads of Mass Effect’s DLC Bring Down the Sky and Pinnacle Station.
The PS3 title, meanwhile, includes all of that and Mass Effect 2’s DLC.

The release of Halo 4 next Tuesday is “set to make entertainment history”, according to Microsoft.
It cites sources saying that the game’s release could be “the biggest entertainment event of 2012”.
Over 10,000 retailers across 40 countries will open their doors at midnight on Monday night to welcome the release of the new Xbox 360 shooter, which is likely the final appearance from the Master Chief on Microsoft’s current hardware.
Major launch events are planned in 30 cities including London, Paris, Tokyo, Sydney, Berlin, Seattle, Tokyo, Toronto, Singapore and Hong Kong.
London’s event “will host a spectacular stunt” on the River Thames between Greenwich Peninsula and Tower Bridge. Punters are invited to head over to the Design Museum in Butlers Wharf (London SE1 2YD) “no later than” 7:30pm.
Around 350 midnight openings are expected to take place across the UK, with GAME’s flagship Stratford store hosting the official launch event. Developers from 343 Industries and The Gadget Show’s Jason Bradbury will be in attendance and prizes will be on offer – as well as a life-sized replica Warthog.
A free bus will offer transit from the Design Museum to GAME Stratford, though spaces are limited and will be offered on a first come first served basis.

Verizon rolled out an LTE-equipped version of its smaller counterpart a few months ago, and now Sprint has announced that it'll begin offering the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 with 4G LTE on November 11th. That will be available for $550 (sans contract), and you'll be able to activate it on one of the carrier's new month-to-month tablet rate plans, which run from $15 a month for 300MB of data to $80 for 12GB -- Sprint says it's also waiving activation fees on all 3G/4G tablets "for a limited time." As for the tablet itself, it comes with a speedier 1.5GHz dual-core processor than the WiFi-only model (which clocked in at 1GHz), but looks to otherwise be the same 10.1-inch device, right down to the now somewhat dated Android 4.0 for an OS -- no word on a planned upgrade to 4.1 or 4.2 just yet.
