Persona 5 is arguably the greatest achievement in role play gaming to date. It has won numerous awards for its gameplay, music and graphics, and is played by thousands of dedicated gamers around the world. The forthcoming release of Persona 5 Royal at the end of March has generated renewed levels of hype around the game – especially given that it has already been released in Japan, so there is no shortage of information.
Yet regardless of the version, there is one area of Persona 5 that captures the attention like no other. The Casino Palace has generated almost as many Reddit discussions as other areas of the game put together. In this day and age, casino gaming is something we are all familiar with, and while experimenting with cheats in a real casino can leave you in hot water, the practice is absolutely essential if you want to progress in the RPG world of Persona 5.
Niijima’s Casino floor
Niijima's Palace is the sixth dungeon that you encounter in Persona 5, and you’ll find yourself there in October and November of the game’s internal timeline. The scene looks instantly familiar as you go through the main doors, as the main hall features in the preview scenes at the start of the game.
After negotiating a number of shadows to obtain the required card passes, you can access the main casino area. Here, you’ll find different slot and dice games. In order to progress further, you are required to accumulate 50,000 coins, and this is where frustration has kicked in for many gamers.
Tips for beating the house
Just as in a real casino, making a large profit isn’t something that is automatically going to happen – at least if you play by the rules. But in Persona 5, there are ways to swing the odds in your favour. Most gamers agree that the best place to start is with the dice game, as grinding out some wins will give you enough coins to go play the slots and get up to 50,000. The important thing to remember is the game is rigged – so before you start playing, you need to ensure it is rigged the right way. Without going into too much detail, that means finding the dice control room.
Once you have accumulated more than 5,000 coins, you can step up the campaign with the slots. There are two slot rooms, and again, you’ll need to do some preparations in order to make sure they are going to pay out. Make sure you spend time in both slot rooms before you start, and don’t forget to look up!
Moving in for the kill
The final area you will visit is via the high limit lobby. From here, you can access the Heart of Darkness Maze and the Outer Chamber. You will need to complete the maze first, which is not too difficult as long as you stay focused. The reward for reaching the end will be sufficient to enter the Outer Chamber, where you will have to get past one last shade for the right to access the final battle arena. Here, you must face off against Niijima herself, using a gambling machine unlike anything you will ever encounter in a real world casino. Good luck!
