"Nintendo officially states that the following games will be coming out for Wii in Japan in 2007:
Donkey Kong Taru Jet Race (DK Jet or DK Bongo Blast, US) - June 28, 2007
Wii Health Pack -- 2007
Disaster: Day of Crisis - 2007
Mario Party 8 - 2007
Project H.A.M.M.E.R. - 2007
Wii Music - 2007
Super Mario Galaxy - 2007
Super Smash Bros. Brawl - 2007
Battalion Wars II - 2007
Forever Blue - 2007
Mario Strikers Charged - 2007
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption - 2007
Mario and Sonic at the Olympics - 2007"
via IGN
Although this is only for Japan, many of these games seem like they would release in the US earlier, if not the same time as Japan.(i.e. Metroid Prime) Atleast, I'm hoping they will. Looks like there's a lot to look forward to this year.

This quote from the article says it all:
There was some coverage on sites Ars Technica and Kotaku today talking about how Xbox Live Arcade games are not fully transferable to the Xbox 360 Elite. This was mentioned on the Gamerscore Blog last week.
<snip>
Listening to Major Nelson's latest podcast they state they are going to fix the licensing issue. Major said:
'Yes, we know the licensing isn't perfect. We know that. We are working on it.'

Hi All,
For those who haven't seen the previous version, Dropbear is a small SSH2 Server
and Client running on a variety of POSIX-based platforms.
It has been mainly developed by Matt Johnston (see matt's web site).
PSPSSH is a port of the version 0.48.1 to the PSP.
This ssh client gives you a remote access to your PC (if you have a SSH server installed of course),
and you can then enter commands and run scripts as if you were directly in front of your PC.
This software is usefull for linux users who might want to connect to their PC/server
from anywhere using a wifi connection, and then read their mail using text based tool
such as pine, elm or mutt, run text irc client, watch log files, edit configuration files, restart services etc ...
* Change log : *
What's new in version 1.0.5 :
- Improve vt100 emulation, the following attributes are now supported :
+ underline
+ blink
+ brightness
- Bug fix in vt100 colors
- Little modification of the keyboard mapping depending on usage frequency,
for example it's now easier to use keys '\' and '|'.
* Credits and license : *
The terminal Vt100 emulation part of PSPSSH is based on the work
of Danzel for his Telnet client for PSP.
This software is distributed under several open-source/free software
licenses, and mainly the MIT/X Consortium License.
See LICENSE.txt file for all details and information about it.
It has been developed on linux for Firmware 1.5 and 3.03-OE.
How to use it ? Everything is in the README.txt file.
Thanks to Matt Johnston for Dropbear, to Danzel and Jeff Chen for their virtual keyboard,
thanks once more to Danzel for the VT100 emulation, and thanks to all PSPSDK coders.
Special thanks to Cool Matty and Delight1 for their feedback, and Dmitry for testing !
Enjoy,
Zx

SINGAPORE, 29 Apr 2007 (Mon) Did we hear you guys wanting to light up the Wiimote (other than the trigger button)? Ermm...I think you might as well electrify the whole wiimote into an explosion of lights with the release of the Strat Clear Wiimote Replacement Case (In-Stock)! We heard everything about modding the heck out of the wiimotes to enable it to control robots, affect CT scan devices and even the microwave oven. But let's face it, even a scientist will get bored of the whitish-ness of the stock shell. First to offer a transparent wiimote in the market, Xtreme Enterprise will be rolling out other colors in time to come. Look out gamers, cos we're just about to color your world! Here is an image, of another peripheral gun for the Wii called "Wii Blaster". Now, dont confuse it with the Wii Blaster from JoyTech. It seems that GameStop has a new "Wii Blaster". Scheduled for release on June 26 by a company called Core Gamer, the Blaster houses the Wiimote in a casing shaped like a shotgun.
Looking at the other products that Core Gamer makes it will just be a housing similar to that of their Sports accessory pack and controller grip.

Ken Kutaragi, the 'Father of PlayStation', has revealed that he already has a vision for PS4, 5 and even 6 - despite having announced his imminent retirement.
Speaking to the EE Times Kutaragi said that previously he had been unable to talk about "the next step" as PlayStation 3 had not launched globally.
"We've introduced PS3 in Europe, so now I can openly talk about" future plans, he continued.
"As a matter of course, I have the vision of Playstation 4, 5 and 6, which will merge into the network."
According to the EE Times report, Kutaragi has already supplied Sony's designers with ideas for cutting the cost of manufacturing PS3 - and with design models for two years into the future.
He is now focused on exploiting the opportunities offered by connectivity, stating, "The design concept of the Cell processor is the network processor."
Kutaragi announced his retirement as CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment last week. He told EE Times he will continue to have a relationship with Sony but that he will work independently of the company for the most part, adding, "Now I'm ready to start working with a much wider world."

Over the weekend a few European PS3 owners got lucky and got a little taste of Home (not the place, the beta version). Although there is no official confirmation from Sony that it was released, there are definitely people out there posting images proving that they have what boys like and what guys want.

That makes America the land of the Home-less (yuck, yuck, yuck), but if you're desperate to have it now, you and/or a friend from Canada can sign up to be beta testers before the release.

D3Publisher has announced their plans to bring three titles ("the first of many") to Microsoft's bit-flinging Xbox Live Arcade service: Mad Tracks, RocketBowl (XBLA's first bowling game, they coo), and the addictive matching game Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords.
Of course, Puzzle Quest is what we're really interested in here. We can imagine the XBLA version's HD graphics undoing the cramped constraints of the Nintendo DS release, while the delivery mechanism should bypass the PSP version's awkward loading pauses, and then there's Xbox Live integration for a proper multiplayer experience. Match up these three improvements to form the ultimate (albeit decidedly non-portable) version of Puzzle Quest!

New version of the Nintendo 64 emulator for Windows and Linux.
Changelog:
- Core
+ detection of invalid code cache for ambiguous region now use
adler32 (faster than previous algorithm)
+ fixed a bug in ini file compression
+ added support for framebuffer effects functions : these functions
are there to help the plugins that support framebuffer extension
to zilmar's spec. These functions are based on rice's idea. I've
worked closely with Gonetz to implement these and the only plugin
that support this feature is Glide64 0.8 (when option is enabled).
Many hard to emulate framebuffer effects are supported by this
feature. Mariokart's monitor in first race running fullspeed and
puzzle effect in banjo's intro are two examples that i can think
about but there are many more.
+ detection of VI interupt rate works on weird country codes
+ better detection of self modifying code in dma
+ warnings fixed on new gcc versions
+ rsp's dmem and imem are now contiguous in PC's memory (some windows
plugins were requiring this)
+ slightly improved audio timing
+ better detection of self modifying code when accessing memory
through TLB
+ fixed a bug in RSP memory write
+ reading from ai_current_delay register should work even when
Count register is looping
+ in interpreter code : fixed a bug in jump opcodes (detection
of exceptions in delay slot in some rare conditions)
+ the event scheduler has better support for Count register loops
+ better AI interrupt handling (for musyx games for example)
+ jump opcodes changed in pure interpreter core so that they are
timed exactly like on the other cores (easier to debug this way)
+ fixed a bug when accessing memory through invalid TLB in LDL, LDR,
LWL, LWR, SWL, SDL, SDR, SWR opcodes
+ added LL, SC opcodes
+ two consecutive jump opcodes doesn't crash in the dynarec (result
is undefined according to the r4300 manual but some games are doing
it).
+ basic implementation of fpu opcodes in dynarec
+ division by 0 in FPU opcodes is returning NaN
+ all jump opcodes implemented in the dynarec
+ faster inside function loop with dynarec (register cache)
+ various bug fixes in dynarec opcodes
+ memory access improvements in dynarec

Here we go again, again. Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter has been running his own sophisticated computerative thinkonometrics regarding the effect of Nintendo's massive success on third parties, and he disagrees with Todd Mitchell's negative assessment.
Basically, Mitchell said that because Nintendo titles dominate Nintendo consoles, that a market with a Nintendo console in the lead would lead to smaller market percentages for third parties. Pachter called the prediction "naive," noting that part of third parties' relative failure on previous Nintendo platform was the fact that they didn't do much publishing. He cited EA and Ubisoft specifically, both of whom are showing more activity on the Wii and DS. If publishers release more games-- and non-games-- they'll sell more!

On Thursday May 3rd at 4:00 AM EDT, four new Gears of War maps will be hitting Xbox Live Marketplace as part of the "Hidden Fronts" Multiplayer Map Pack. Running you 800 Microsoft Points, you'll be able to do battle on Process, Garden, Subway, and Bullet Marsh. For those of you concerned about the price, fret not, as you'll be able to download the pack for free four months later, on September 3rd, 2007. We've got the map descriptions from the press release after the break, but the question we've got for you is this: Are you going to get the maps now, or wait a bit first to see if it's worth your hard earned points and hold off till they're free in the fall?
"Bullet Marsh: In this Kryll-infested swamp, an old generator still powers the area lights. A few stray bullets could easily knock out the generator, leaving combatants to fend for themselves against the Kryll.
Garden: This overgrown and crumbling conservatory still has a working fertilization and pesticide system. This system can pose a serious hazard to anyone who ventures into the greenhouse without first venting the air.
Process: Teams must fight for control of this subterranean Imulsion processing plant, still active despite the cessation of the Pendulum wars.
Subway: Timgad's Central Subway station used to serve as a central hub for commuters. Now the tunnels are crawling with Locust."

1984: Nintendo releases Golf for NES in Japan. The public is so impressed with Nintendo's innovation, they create a sport in the game's image.
2002: Bethesda Softworks releases The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind for PC in the US. What did everyone think of the game?
I'd write more, but this post is making me feel bad for not finishing Oblivion. Seriously, like I kicked a baby or something.

One of the most famous/entertaining/mind blowing/easy to understand-hard to master game the face of the Earth has ever seen, I'm talking about the Rubik's Cube, is now available for the Nintendo DS.
If you're like me, and could never ever complete it and ended up throwing it away as far as possible...I would like to say, in advance, that I can not be held responsible for any damage done to your Nintendo DS and/or the windows of your neighbours.

The official Halo 3 website has updated with new artwork and details on Bungie's shooter sequel - including our first glimpse at the third instalment's revamped pistol.
According to the website listing, the M6D pistol has a "relatively fast rate of fire and good accuracy", while series loyalists will be pleased to hear that it also sports a 2x zoom - so hopefully it won't be as rubbish as Halo 2's magnum.
Elsewhere on the site there are more plot details surrounding the Elite's new-found alliance with humans, some mild spoilers on returning heroes (and baddies) in the characters section and some lovely artwork that we've included below.
Go on then, head on over to the Halo 3 website and go a bit mental.

Colony Studios, a new development studio set up by a number MMOG dev veterans, has revealed it's working on a sci-fi, spaced-themed massively multiplayer online game.
Speaking about the game to RPG Vault, the company's CEO Michael Wallis explained, "Our IP will be centred on a dynamic living 'world' far more than a linear storyline that hinders replayability. We will provide a ton of history and backstory in the game, but the players will consistently influence the content."
He continued, "The important differentiator is this - players will log in and react to what's been happening in the game, not log in and get the same exact experience they had the last time they played. Our game is dynamic, so you'd better keep up with it."
"Ultimately, we think this will attract the interest of gamers because of our unique approach to warfare and player vs. player combat, territory control and player advancement. Finally, the end game is what everyone strives for, and if we use our experience and talent correctly, ours will be completely immersive and rewarding."
Colony Studios' staff includes members that have worked on a number of MMOGs, such as World of Warcraft and EverQuest, along with Eve Online, City of Heroes, Dark Age of Camelot, Lord of the Rings Online and Ultima Online.
Wallis also revealed that back in 2005 Colony Studios was in negotiations with Universal regards developing a Battlestar Galactica MMOG, "but things eventually fell through due to a variety of factors beyond our control."
He added in an official statement on the forming of Colony Studios, "Most dev teams - including Colony's - have gone through the process of learning what doesn't work in game development, but our team members have also been intimately involved with creating what does work in several successful MMOs and that combination will serve us well. Our challenge is, of course, to use our experience and talent correctly to create an MMO that players will enjoy."

The Driver series is returning next month in Driver 76 on PSP thanks to Ubisoft, and a new gameplay clip is showing the game in action. Check it out in our video player - you know the drill.
Driver 76 has been developed by Sumo Digital Ubisoft's Reflections studio, and acts as a prequel to Driver: Parallel Lines. Staying faithful to the Driver formula, it's an action driving game with car chases and on-foot sections that drops players into 1970s New York and flares. The single-player part features 27 missions and there's numerous multiplayer modes.

Dr. Richard Marks, the man behind the PS3's upcoming Eye Camera, says that the device's most important feature is its background noise-reducing microphone.
Speaking to Level Up the good doctor said, "The hands-free voice input this enables may be the single most important feature of Playstation Eye. Previously, the only way to get clean voice data was using a headset worn by the player; now, without wearing a headset, players will be able to talk freely".
"The device is especially good at removing ambient sounds like traffic and wind noises from outside, the whirring of fans, etc. Also, there is special processing to remove the game sounds generated by the PS3 itself."
The Eye Camera was officially announced by SCEE last week, sporting a two-position zoom lens, various capture modes and improved tracking and responsiveness with a stupidly-quick frame rate upto 120fps.
It'll be in the shops this summer for an unknown price - though according to Marks it'll be quite affordable: "I don't know exactly when the price announcement for PlayStation Eye will be, but please note that the model used for the rough cost design was EyeToy."

It's speculated that Sony Online Entertainment may acquire Vanguard: Saga of Heroes developer Sigil Games, following the revelation that the two are in talks regarding the future of both the PC MMOG and Sigil.
Speaking to Vanguard Vault, Sigil CEO Brad McQuaid admitted that Vanguard isn't doing as well as hoped but explained that talks with the game's publisher SOE "are going well and first and foremost, our primary concern right now is what's best for Vanguard and its community".
"We want to ensure that this game and its community have a healthy future. The specifics that we work out over the coming days will all be with that single goal in mind", McQuaid said.
He added that "the bottom line" is that Sony Online Entertainment is going to be getting more involved with Sigil and Vanguard and that "our relationship is going to become even tighter - much tighter".
McQuaid said he couldn't say whether this means an acquisition of Sigil by SOE at this point - or whether staff and management changes will result from the talks - but did say that "regardless of the turn out, SOE knows that Sigil has the experience and vision necessary to run Vanguard and therefore a major change in that area is extremely unlikely and would be foolish on their part."
Reassuring news for current Vanguard subscribers then, and with McQuaid informing of a potential re-launch of the MMOG in late 2007 it's a game worth keeping in mind if you're a fan of the genre.
"I think it's safe to say that both Sigil and SOE see the potential of a mind blowing game by the end of the year," McQuaid told Shacknews.

MMORPG Global Agenda is debuting on these pages today in a 60-second teaser trailer showcasing the game.
In development at Hi-Rez Studios, the title's being built on Epic's Unreal Engine 3 and is described as a "mission-based action MMORPG... set in a near future world of espionage and tactical covert operations" that "features fast-paced ranged and close combat, RPG-style character progression, solo or cooperative team missions, and competitive play on a massive scale between player-created agencies."
As for the setting, it's the 22nd century on Earth and special agents are waging war. Hi-Rez promises a dynamic world where "in-game events and locations are influenced by the actions of players and agencies."
The game's been in development for over two years already but there's no word on a released date yet. Check out the trailer and see what you think.

Microsoft has confirmed that the new premium (i.e. you have to pay for them) Gears of War maps will be cropping up on Xbox Live Marketplace this Thursday May 3.
Four maps are included in the 800 Microsoft point (£6.80) Hidden Fronts map pack, and they all sound so tempting even our stingy tech man is reaching for his coin purse.
Microsoft and Epic have clashed over the pricing of the map pack, Epic wanting to provide it for free and MS craving your hard earned dollar - or pound. Meeting in the middle, the two have decided to sell the pack for now and provide it for free after September 3 in four months time.
Via the magic of copy and paste, here's what to expect from the new maps:
Bullet Marsh: In this Kryll-infested swamp, an old generator still powers the area lights.
Subway: Timgads Central Subway station used to serve as a central hub for commuters. Now the tunnels are crawling with Locust.
Keep eyes peeled for the release.

Sony recently dropped the price on its PlayStation Portable handheld to $169, edging it closer to the DS in price. A deal spotted at a Sam Goody store tightens the gab of the $129 Nintendo DS Lite to the Sony PSP by $10. Sam Goody is offering the Sony PSP Core for $139.99 by offering a $30 mail-in-rebate. The deal is available until this Wednesday, but it may be extended an additional week.
This deal is not available online, but at local stores only. Check the Sam Goody store locator (here) to find one in your area. Several UMD movies are available for $4.99 as well, in limited quantity and selection of course. I definitely recommend checking the PSP out at that price. There are some great looking titles on the horizon, including God of War: Chains of Olympus, Final Fantasy Tactics: The Lion War and Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles to name only a few!
