Logitech PlayGear Pocket Review

My turn for a review and boy was i happy to get the chance to review the Logitech Playgear Pocket, heres some info:

Heres an excerpt from my review:

Logitech have brought out some great accessories for the PSP so when i was asked if i wanted to review the Playgear Pocket i jumped at the chance. The first thing i noticed was the quality of the packaging, it looked and felt like the rolls royce of packages and the text and instructions were clear and easy to understand.

Once i got my hands on the Playgear pocket you could feel this was a quality product, the button was a tad tricky to open but thats because im a bit heavy handed but after 20 open and shuts on the case i didnt feel any differences in the way it was opening and shutting.

great review. I own one of these cases and I highly recommend it. Like wraggster said it's sturdy, allows access to everything expect the USB, and doubles as a viewing stand. One other issue I had with it is that it does not actually lock the PSP inside. If you happen to drop the case while it's open (while playing your PSP, for example) your PSP can easily fall out. Some way to snap the PSP into the case would have been ideal.

Since it's a fairly inexpesive case, I've gone ahead and modded mine to fix this problem. I super-glued a small hinge to the inside of the logitec case, where the case meets the bottom edge of the PSP. The hinge attaches to the PSP using the PSP's own case screw found next to the serial number sticker. Now the PSP is firmly mounted in the logitec case, but can be tiled up on the hinge to change UMD disks. Since the PSP's own case screw is used to mount it, it's easy to remove without any damage.

With or without the mod, it's still a great case. If I can just dremel out a connector for the USB port it will be perfect

I'd also like to know if anyone has tried putting a PSP with the X2 battery inside this case. I'd like to know if it fits before I go buy one. Thanks!

I highly recommend it too. Fits perfectly and makes the psp a little more bulky wehn playing, but keeps ure baby safe . Target seems to be the best place to find these, if you live in the US.

The only issue I have is that when I have it opened about 90 degrees to act as a sun shield (as in the picture in wraggsters post) the soft rubber lining keeps falling out onto the PSP. The lining should stay in place better. I dont want to glue it in place. Otherwose its a great protector, I just take the PSP out when I'm playing it.

Looks very neat and tidy!

I now have scratches all over my PSP from using this case as dirt gets in at the sides. Also have grit marks on the screen as the PSP is allowed to nove around too much. D pad and buttons all marked. Also doesn't protect the shoulder buttons or power input.

And to top it off the case itslef scratches to buggery.

A waste of money.

Its ok, other than being a little bulky and sometimes allowing a bit too much dust to come through the open ports. The USB isn't that much of a problem but would have been a good idea for convenience. Dont think it scratches?
