General games DICE's new download-only Battlefield will cost $15

EA studio reveals game is built on same engine as traditional retail releases

Electronic Arts' Swedish studio DICE has this afternoon confirmed that its new game Battlefield 1943 will be sold for $15 when it launches later this year.

The game, one of EA's first download-only/digital distributed titles, is a sequel to DICE's famed Battlefield 1942 and is built with the same engine as more recent Battlefield titles.

It will be available for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC and will not be released as a boxed product.

EA and DICE are referring to the game as a 'premium download title'.

Please don't buy this. You'll never be able to sell it unless you sell your console. Fight DLC and win!
