Try XGEN Updater v4. It directly updates your CFW to 5.50 GEN-D

Well i been on 5.50GEN D-2 about a week now and apart from a few minor compatability issues i've had no real bother with it, i guess i'm a proper GEN convert now, and from now on i'm gonna try not to listen to the M33 fanboy doom sayers on stability issues.
On M33, I have popsloader set up to load one of many PSX pops versions. Does that functionality exist on GEN? That's really my main concern.
Oh, and does that XGEN app upgrade from M33 to GEN or should I do a wipe first?
Yeah Popsloader works on 5.50GEN and it just installs normally over M33, just follow link by Nokiaman for Xgenupdater because it includes 5.50ofw and does auto patching.
HORRAY, the people with psp 3000 are not being forgoten and we can play the new games with the protection. I play umds and the new protection worries me but thanks to the update i can rest at ease. GREAT WORK GUYS
I converted to the Gen Firm some time ago, but for some reason when I went from gen b to gen d my psp got a bit messed up, there were some weird slowdowns while playing videos.
I had to go from 5.00 M33 straight to Gen D to fix it, everything is ok now and I can play new games
