Citroen ad creator to direct Halo film

You know the Citroen advert where a car turns into giant transformer-like robot and dances around? Well the guy behind that has been chosen to direct the new Halo film.

The ad creator is Neill Blomkamp, a 3D animator from South Africa who has worked on TV series such as Smallville and Dark Angel, as well as producing a number of short films and, of course, dancing robot adverts.

The announcement was made on Xbox.com and accompanied by a statement from the Halo movie producer, Peter Jackson, expressing his delight at Blomkamp's appointment: "As a gaming fan, I'm excited to bring Halo's premise, action and settings to the screen with all the specificity and reality today's technology can provide. With Neill on board, I'm even more excited by the potential of this project."

The Halo film is set for a 2008 release.

Hmmm, not totally excited by this. Would of been more so if Peter Jackson was directing. I'll just keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best.

Woooo this WILL be a good film no doubt, just as long as it has a similar story to the games and not completely different (Like the resident evil films, for example if the game is set in 1998 then why is there a motorola razr in the film haha)

Peter Jackson will make this a good film as well as Neil, there both great talented people...

...I wonder who will play he masterchief???

My money on Sylvester Stallone for the voice and Hulk Hogan in the suit haha...

This should be an exellent movie! I wonder if it will be like the first game, or if it will be like the first book.
