It’s Christmas morning in the Mann household in Wisconsin, USA. Santa has brought the best present of all - a rare-as-hen’s-teeth Nintendo Wii - for the children to share and enjoy. In preparation, the family has bought a whopping 70-inch rear projection TV for their front room. As we predicted, this family didn’t wait for their replacement straps to arrive…
Karlee Mann (14) sat by while her cousin Bryce (also 14) dominated the initial few games of Wii Sports Tennis. When Bryce finally gave in to her protests, the heady mix of frustration, adrenalin, anticipation and family rivalry proved too much. In an instant the remote slipped from her hands, the weak Gen 1 strap failed to catch the escaping projectile, and the Mann’s $4500 TV took a clean bullet to the head. Oops.

Hmmm. Nintendo has a warning, it's actually displayed before each game starts.
The warnings should read:
1. Don't be a moron. The strap has a tab to help secure the strap, use it, live it, love it. This will help prevent accidental stupidity from causing your remote from killing small children, elderly, expensive tvs, walls, or possibly causing damage to the remote itself.

2. Don't swing the controller like a moron.
This will keep you from:
A) Dislocating shoulders
B) Tennis elbow
C) Punching another player
D) Scaring your room mates
3. Hold on to the remote. This will definitely prevent your controller from leaving your hands.
I'd say common sense should be used instead of swinging the controller like a Jedi on steroids and not heeding the warnings CLEARLY displayed before each game.
Also, if this happens to anyone, I don't feel sorrow/remorse/pity for you, all I'm going to do is laugh.
