It would appear that the folks over at Infectus have made a PS3 downgrader, complete with tutorial on how to get it working. As of this writing there has been no documented case (that I have seen) of working and the overwhelming risk of brickage have turned many over at the Official Playstation Boards off to the idea.
To get started, you should download the small software that you can find HERE.
Then, please download the Drivers that you'll need to make Infectus visible for the System Here
Once you have got everything turn your console ON, connect Infectus to the USB port and start the software!
This tutorial show you how to READ and WRITE the internal NAND FLASH of PS3:
Here a nice video of this feature:
its weird... but sadly its not for people like you and me :'(
If you can access the flash, couldn't you patch the firmware to run homebrew??
Its possible, but I think we are a ways away from that.
Then again, this combined with the HDD analysis that HanSooloo over at PS3-Hacks is doing could lead to a way of unlocking the Game portion of the HDD, allowing us to save games there. Which may one day allows us to save our ripped PS1 games there (if they are in the same format as the PSP ones, if not, another converter would have to be made.)
HII,
Any body help me to hack my ps3 ver 1.50 .
In which ver of ps3 we can play the pirated cd in it ?
and how can i connect the ps3 to the computer usb?
Oh my god! Not only did you mention isos, but you plainly used the word "Pirated" in your description!
This is a good exploit found although I think that you've should've waited until someone fount out how to run homebrew then sony would've came out with a upgrade then you can hit them with a downgrade but good find. LONG LIVE HOMEBREW!
