News/release from Nex:
It's nowhere near finished... but at a pretty good state. It runs at 56-60FPS solidly, no matter what you plonk onscreen. At the moment, everything acts like sand of different densities. Have a go, and provide some feedback, please!

Judged against the de facto standard implementation of the Falling Sand Game:
- I've never seen a version with a non-black background.
- If L increases the size of the pen, the R button should do the same so as to accommodate left-handed users.
- The Fire effect is overwrought, but very unique.
- No normal Plant or the ??? ?
- Elements drawn at the edges warp to the other side.
- A section of the top of the screen isn't functional.
- What is it that spills from the top when Up is pressed?
- The screens don't turn off when the DS is closed.
- Most implementations of the original game have multiple speeds. Your version could easily handle this if it can run at 60 fps.
- A function to clear out the screen would be nice.
More opinions as I use this further.
how did i miss this.

i might try this out.

First I would like to thank Markzilla on the GBADev forums for pasting my comments on that forum.
I have an idea regarding the element selection. Instead of reserving part of the screen, have the elements on a drop-down menu accessible by pressing L or R. This would save screen space as well as allow for many more elements to be implemented. To complement this, the user can choose whether opening this menu pauses the sand until it's closed.
Shall I continue relaying your messages?
That might not be necessary. I might register just because I have faith in this project.
