No im not taking the Piss, first we had Wii and now we have The Wiz, this GBA Micro Sized console is the upgrade to the GP2X and boasts an Arm9 533MHZ processor with 3D, with 64MB of Ram, Touchscreen etc.
GP2X Homebrew just needs to be recompiled to take advantage of the new console.
Check out the 2 screens and also the image with the jpegs at our GP2X Site here --> http://gp2x-emulation.dcemu.co.uk/gph-the-wiz-official-announcement-141960.html
The console will boast commercial games and a heck of a lot more, should really give other homebrew scenes some serious competition. Lets hope theres enough Homebrew Devs to go around all of these communities :)

Can anyone give me a good reason why the hell there are 2 D-Pads on this thing. Each side, left and right have D-Pads instead of a D-Pad on the left and face buttons on the right.

It'll be because a d-pad is just as easy to use as 4 face buttons, but 4 face buttons are no way near as easy to use as a d-pad. I'm sure its something many left handed ds users are probably familiar with.

Its not practical to do simultaneous presses with the dpad is it?
and no price point yet

This looks much more interesting than the pandora, apart from the two d-pads i would be happy to use this, but that pandora just looks like someone bought all the parts then just stuck them together in a box with no thought of asthetics or usability

Looks kinda lame with two dpads.
The virtual boy also had two dpads and it was a really bad console.
I hope for the wiz it's not as bad as the virtual boy.

oled screens are really nice, hope it doesnt drive the price insane
and as a previous owner of a VB, i happen to know the controls on that console were really good and the dual dpad served both as a dpad and button input (really now look at any playstation its a dpad thats just not connected by plastic)
what made it a bad system was the non-portability of a portable system, its battery life, and the eye strain if you played it hours on end
and often times now i hear people re-reviewing the machine stating the control system as one of the best at the time, course nowdays with our quad analog sticks dpad and 93 buttons its not as much as a shock as going from a 6 button sega
its a quite solid fun machine, i kinda wish i didnt gut years ago

I'd imagine the right hand side "d-pad" isn't actually a d-pad.
Traditionally a d-pad is on a pivot whereby you can't press opposite controls simultaneously. I'd think you will be able to with the Wiz.
I'm interested in this and looks like a nice improvement on the GP2X. I'm kind of hoping it would have had some sort of Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, but I don't see it on the specs where I'm sure it would have been if it was there.
The other thing I'd like would be a real-time clock with proper battery back up.

 The display 2.8 inch is too small; especially it’s a touch screen panel. 3.5 or 4 inch will be good, and with resolution 480x320 it will be super, and it sucks no TV out , also a playtime approx 5 hours it’s not impressive:o.

Tbh the size of this thing is the real plus for me. My micro often wins over my ds lite as it really feels portable, not some heavy thing in my pocket. The potential lack of wireless is a big minus though, and of course I'd have to know the price.
