[GamePark Wiz hands-on from Engadget Spanish]

We've already seen early pictures and heard a release date for GamePark's newest handheld -- the Wiz -- but now Engadget Spanish has gotten their hands and eyes all over the device, and they've brought back photos to prove it. As you can see from the pics, the portable console will be offered with more than one style of casing, and apparently the company is setting up some type of App Store-like service which will allow users to purchase and download software, as well as share their own homebrew apps. According to our team, it looks like that October 8th street date will be pushed back till sometime in November due to issues with the right control pad (which GamePark is working to correct). Until then, you can just feast your eyes on the gallery below.

Here's how I'd like the Wiz to be, not just the four buttons - a bigger screen too. There is enough room I think. Compare it to the unaltered one at the top.

Update: Nevermind what I said they're adding face buttons and increasing the size of the headphone jack.
Now if they could only fix the screen size.

:D It will be good if Wiz has a bigger screen with resolution 480x320 + TV out, and not a just 4 buttons but a 6 buttons will be SUPER, it will be good for emulations a Sega Saturn :thumbup:

If any current handheld (up till the end of the year( emulates the Saturn at a playable speed, I would really surprised considering the speed it runs on a high end PC.

The Wiz is now being redesigned to have 4 face buttons instead of the 2nd 'd-pad' in additional to the 2 triggers it already has.

I am sceptical about whether this is really going to happen, since it is a fairly major design change being made fairly close to launch, and would supposedly delay the launch by only a month.

Has there been any other sources to confirm that this is going ahead other than the conversation EvilDragon had with somebody at a trade show? Are there any photos or official announcements?

It would be great if it did happen, but I seem to remember a similar thing happening before the GP2x launch (i.e. somebody at Gamepark saying they would change the design from a joystick to a dpad, but it didn't happen for years).
